A great game to start off with the PS3 is MGS 4!! I thought it was a great game. Not many great exclusives out there right now, but many more are coming. Good thing you are thinking about buying a PS3. haha. Just wait for better exclusives like Resistance 2, Killzone 2, MAG and one of my favorite..... LITTLE big Planet. Those will come shortly. Don't forget to purchase the PS3 componant cables after buying your PS3 they don't come with those. And you need to buy your own Bluetooth headset, it doesn't come with the system. I'd prefer buying the Sony bluetooth headset coming out at the same time with Socom Confrontations (Don't buy this game, i'm in the beta and it's not that great)

Don't give up a Wii for a PS3 hehe. I'd much rather have the Wii exclusives over PS3. The fact that you have an Xbox 360 limits your uses for the PS3. Maybe I should save the stuff for SW... anyway... as of right now, the only game on PS3 that I'm playing is MGS4. All the other PS3 games either didn't interest me, or I just got it on Xbox 360.

YEah the ps3 comes with AV cables? Pretty wierd considering AV sucks and you got a machine that plays bluray.

Warhawk is a great game!! Alot of people still play it.

HDMI Cables are better, but is it worth it? Component cables are what? 20-30$ and are almost the same as the HDMI cable. There are almost no visible difference that you can tell between the two. HDMI cables that are durable enough are worth alot. Ranging from 60-100+$. Now is the price worth it? When considering there isn't much difference. I don't you, you decide.

The xbox 360 is out of date man, only games worth getting for it now are Gow 2 and Fable 2. The PS3 is starting to shine now... lots of great exclusive titles and playstation home.

I'd be hard pressed to buy an HDMI cable for $60. I'm using this and it works perfectly.

Mmm, well at the risk of turning this into console war argument, I'll go for it anyway. I'd much rather be playing Gears 2 over Resistance 2. Not to mention I like RPGs and shooters more than any other genre, Xbox 360 is still the best for that. Square Enix has more support for 360 than PS3 as seen through future exclusives like Star Ocean, and the recently released Infinite Undiscovery. Of course the 360 hands down has the most WRPGs. By no means is the 360 out of date. Anyhow, It is true that the PS3 is getting an increasing number of good exclusives now. The past years have been disappointing, and really, it wasn't until very recently I started turning on my PS3 again (namely MGS4). I'm still looking forward to Little Big Planet and such.

If you want to play your Bluray movies in 1080p yeah you do. If you're not into movies, then I guess component is fine. Personally, I always go for HDMI whenever possible.

There's some regulation that doesn't allow movies to be played in 1080p without HDMI or DVI... unless its randomly different on PS3. EDIT: 1080p isn't available through component cable for AACS contracted devices, such as Blu-ray and HD DVD

If you dont want to unplug it from your 360 and plug it into your PS3 then yes, but if you want to be a cheapskate then one cable will serve you fine. But if you can find a cheap HDMI cable online then go for it. In fact, try sewelldirect.com. The lowest I saw an HDMI cable the was for $12.95 plus shipping which is much less than what you would pay for it in any store.

Also, as far as games go you will definately want to pick up Metal Gear Solid 4. Little Big Planet, and Socom Confrontation are the next exclusives Im purchasing, Resistance 2 comes out on November 7th as well.

Welcome to the next generation my freind. I suggest:

Metal Gear Solid 4 is a must buy

Uncharted if you like action adventure shooting

Devil May cry 4 if you like fast paced style gameplay

Disgaea 3, Valkyria Chronicles if your into JRPG's

Resistance 2, Killzone 2 soon if you like FPS

Soul Calibur 4 if your into fighters and Tekken 6 in 2009

Ratchet TOD or Quest for booty if you like 3D Platformers

thats what I can think of in the top of my head for now

Ill would list more games coming out for 2009 but Im guessing you want some suggestions for as soon as you buy your PS3.

buy mgs4 if u think you'll like it. u can pick up resistance and motorstorm and some other exclusives pretty cheap. or u could just wait for the flood of exclusive titles over the next few months.

Nope, the PS3 comes with a wireless adapter build-in to it.
