I think he is too bulky.

i think kratos as a more natural slim muscle. not bulky wreatsler. if compareing wreastlers i would say john cena looks like the type of body kratos would have but again a little slimer.

Althoug hthey got a british actor to play ghandi in the ghandi movie but they used a lot of make up you cant make a black guy white look at micheal jackson! anyways you just cant cast Kratos if anythign it will be a nobody and probably wont talk very often it could be even narrated like the game, that would be the best way to go! Anywaysi accept this to fall out unless sony puts a lot of money into it since they own the rights and a ony film studio!

Did half of you not play the first game?  Kratos is a black guy covered in white ashes.  He should totally be played by a black guy.  I agree with an early post, Djimon Hounsou should be Kratos.  He's got a strong, deap voice; he'd just have to bulk up a bit.

The one where his skin was darker than everyone else's in the cutscenes.  He wasn't necessarily as dark as Djimon Hounsou, but he was black.  I don't entirely care who they get to play him, just as long as it's not Vin Deisel.

One thing is for sure... there's going to be some major T & A in the movie.  I am more curious to see who they are going to get for the menage a trois after the first action sequence.

If Vin Diesel is greek and black... I'd say that is as close to a true genetic match as you can get.  He was my first thought actually, but that would pretty much seal the fate of the movie actually being anything past a typical Hollywood action flick.. and I thought the storyline was superb.

Anyhow, there is only one person who is bad-a$$ enough to play Kratos, and we all know it...

Ok, I don't know what you're looking at, Pugo, but Kratos is NOT black.  Kratos is Greek, specifically Spartan.  You do realize that Greek ppl tend to have a darker skin tone than your average white person, correct?  Much like Italians.  You really need to back and look at those scenes again.

As for the perfect actor to play Kratos, there is only one man: Gerard Butler, aka King Leonidas.  He's got the build for it, the look, definitely the attitude, and without a doubt the voice.  THIS IS SPARTA!!!

Race is not central to the game's story nor Kratos' character in any significant way so your analogy of the last emporer and winston churchill is ridiculous. I wouldn't hire a woman to play a man's role or vice versa but when trying to cast a role for a fictional character like like Kratos, it wouldn't hurt to have a black man/spanish man/asian man/ or whatever play his role. We're looking for someone who a) has the proven chops (he's been in oscar nominated films, Amistad, Gladiator, Blood Diamond, etc.) b)has a decent build (he can bulk up for the role). My only concern is that he's not tall enough (camera tricks anyone??) This whole thing of he's not white, bla, bla, bla...You do know that he's only a non-painted Spartan for a few moments in the game, right? Just because you're a white actor doesn't mean you can play the role. This is not blade we're casting here, where the story was all about an afro-american. If that doesn't prove the point then take a look at The Green Lantern, he's been white, black, latino in comics, movies, and cartoons and he's not even covered by anything but a green mask...slyydevil

Those were different Green Laterns, each with own name and background. Some white some black and some latino. Kratos is just one guy one Greek guy, not Black Greek or Chines Greek or Philipino Greek or Malaysian Greek but just Greek. Making him black is trying too hard to be politically correct and will come out as being another contrived modern new age PC trash.
