It seems like it would work out really well for me. I love MGS and I was one of the kids who was vehemently into Killzone as well. My only thing is that I know very little about the PSN. I only delved into online gaming back in January with Call of Duty 4 on Xbox 360 but I really want to grab up a PS3 for the hits that I love.

So I just have some questions about PSN. Do you have the whole friends function and I've heard a lot about there being no voice chat or a real community interface. I'm aware HOME will eventually happen but I'm still naive on the workings of the PSN. Can someone help me out?

With PSN you have messaging friends anytime. (except when your playing PS1/PS2 games), Video-chat however is only avalilbe outside of games, unless that game specificly supports it.

PSN is also free, and aside from a few minor features such as cross-game invites it matches XBL...

yeah ps3 has voice chat...the video chat/voice chat is the same interface...it'll just recognise if you have a webcam attached too...so you can turn the webcam off if you don't want the other person to see you but still keep the mic on...also most games with online mode support voice chat...

yah well it does have voice chat and its good cuz there arent ay annoying kids on it...

um yah im pretty impressed with psn considering they dont even charge for it... and with home coming out soon... its looking brighter.... the friend system is good... not as complex as live but they are definately trying to catch up and they are... psn has some amazing games to download and a huge choice of demos... in fact when i first bought my ps3 a little over a year ago... i servived on demos alone for about a month lol! so yah

its really impressive... ofc people who compare it to xbox keep forgetting tht the xbox had a huge head start in terms of the online community... live started since the original xbox... so looking at the time span... ps3 has actually ran a long way to catch up... plus the sheer amount of features... remote play (if u have a psp), free, the new look of the store... jus really good... im a very proud ps3 owner right now lol =D

oh and another reason to get it... Little Big Planet... but not only tht there are so many other games coming, Far Cry 2, Merc.2, Resistance 2, End War, 2k9, god the sheer number...

jus buy one... u wont be dissapointed, as long as u choose the right games...

I was a huge Sony fan during the last gen, I stuck with the PS2 all the way through. The only thing that kept me back was the price tag attached to the system. Now that the price dropped I began to really think about it.

I think the only ones of us that had to "worry" about taking the plunge, were those of us who bought the PS3 on release when there weren't that many decent games at first, however, right now, that's not the case. There's Battlefield, MGS, Burnout, Overlord, GTA, Gran Turismo, and tons of stuff I'm forgetting, so there's pretty much something for everyone.

Do some research on the games out at the moment and you'll see what I mean. Yes, Home is coming, but there's no concrete date yet, tho there is a Beta being tested right now.
