All gamers in the US: Toys R Us is running a buy 2 get 1 free sale tomorrow.

I'm sure many of you have heard about this already, but I just called my Toys R Us over here in Palm Springs California and they confirmed to me that they are running a buy 2 get 1 free sale on all games starting tomorrow (10/14), and ending on Saturday (10/20).

Just a heads up to any of you who are looking to buy some games.

It's probably smart to call your store and confirm, but my store said it was nation wide and would start tomorrow.

In case you have another system, though, you can mix systems. You could buy 1 PS3 game, 1 360 game and get a Wii game free.

Just an FYI in case you thought it was one system only.:)

I'm not sure of the frequency, but they've always done one around this time every year. They ran this same promotion a few weeks ago, around early September, so I'm surprised they are doing it again.

If you have multiple systems, understand that you can mix n' match, meaning you can buy a PS3 game, 1 360 game and get a Wii game for free, or any combination you wish, including portable games.

No...I just have a PS3. I don't want the Wii...I'm angry at the Wii!! :D But I was considering to buy a 360 but you know what??? I get a killer PC insted..(it's on the works $1200 for it) and play all the games 360 gets in even higher def. Just connect my new PC with a DVI-HDMI cable to my 52" TV and I'm all good!

So yea...it would be much sweeter if they had it next month. But they are not stupid...they know that there aren't too many good games this time out!! That's why they try to boost sales!

I tried to buy Heavenly Sword, warhawk and lair form the online store, but not one of these game where eligible for the deal last time. I now own all of those games at full price. I wonder if I go into the store will they let me buy any game I want?

To gagit811, as long as it's a game they currently have in stock then you can do this deal. Their online store never carries the same stock as the actual store. I tried to do it last time but none of the games I wanted were listed, but this time I'm gonna be there the second it opens.:D

That's cool man. I called about an hour ago and was told the sale was tomorrow. The guy who answered the phone had to verify with his manager but everything seems legit. Some guy in the 360 board is basically saying I'm lying when all I'm trying to do is let everyone know what I was told.

I suggest calling and verifying because I've been on the wrong side of this before, being told there was a sale at a Gamestop when there wasn't one. I just wanna pass this info on to people so they can take advantage of it.

So in theory you could buy two games, get another one your not too keen on and sell. Reducing the cost of the two you bought anyway, then sell those as well. Profit maker!Christopper

I honestly can't find three games I really want so I figured I would make sure that one of the three games was a new release that I could sell online brand new. I'll just get home, list it and send it without ever opening it, hence turning buy 2 get 1 free into buy 1 get 1 free.:o

Make sure to call your store tonight, or even tomorrow after they open because it took me a while to get an answer from my store, plus someone in the 360 board is saying he was told different. I can only go by what I was told, and hopefully it's true.

Have you called your Toys R Us to verify? I'm not entirely sure that it's US only so you may want to check with them today or after they open tomorrow to make sure.

As a tip, what you can do is buy some games and not open them, then return them within the grace period for a refund, then use the money on games you do want. I'm not sure what their return policy is, but I'm sure you get a certain amount of time before you can't return them anymore.

For instance, you could buy 2 games, get 1 free but NOT open the two that you actually bought. Then you could return the games you didn't open within their policy period for a refund, then buy the games you want.:o

hey nyc05, don't worry you've been told right. toysrus has had this deal going for the past 4 years. i keep track of it cuz it saves me a lot of money. they usually have it the fourth week of october, but i guess this year they're doing it a little early. and yes they do it this time of year cuzthey're smart and they know there aren't any good games right now. they do this to clear their shelves of older games to make room for the game avalanche in november and december. either way, i'm a happy gamer with a free game =DRafinator

Thanks for the verification, and you're right about them wanting to clear stock. They don't want this deal taking place when the big releases are happening because they would lose out on sales.

Yeah but I don't want to get stuck with 2 junk games that I just bought for a gamble in hopes that Toys R US is stupid. I'm almost positive that they would not let you do that and they come up with some BS like you trade back games because of the deal or BS like that. Too bad there are not any good games out or else I would consider buying from them.

i'll just buy prison tycoon 1 and roller coaster tycoon 2 then get warhawk free

that is an unbelievably unfortunate end date considering the games I was thinking of getting this fall are far cry 2, LBP, fable 2, and gears 2. 3 of those come out 1 day late.Sheps21
