More than a decent RPG.I say BUY IT.Graphics are decent and best thing is you can take a sizeable amount of Liberty in doing things. And especially if found in the bargain bin, more than enough reason to buy it.At least I would have purchased it.
It was one of those games that could have been great, but ultimately Obsidian really botched it. I thought it was pretty bad.
There were a few moments that were really awesome, but most of the game was unimpressive.
I wouldn't pay more than $5-$10 for it, if you do pick it up.
I was one of the few who pre-ordered it and got it on release day, and even though I paid full price for it I thought that it was a really good game just not a great game. I liked it as it was fun and interesting, but it could have been alot better. I would say if you can get it for a low price than get it, as for me even after I played it I would still pay full price again if I had to.
You will have to tell me how it is once you get to play it! Thanks for the other replies,I have not played it but have been interested in it since it was first announced. I just ordered it today from Amazon.com. It is $14.95. I know from the reviews it won't be great, but at that price it should provide some entertainment and safisfy my curiosity.

IT is actually underrated.. I had a few customers at my job pick it up and they loved it and defended it. It's basically a Mass Effect but with the whole Spy 007 Concept. The only reason why the game doesn't even get that much love is because of two words.. "SEGA. . .& OBSIDIAN" Young_CharterOr you know, buggy and poorly exectuted work too. Seriously, thats not why, I havent seen hate for either of those companies. Besides when talking about how much SEGA messed up sonic.

The reason Alpha Protocol was such a failure has nothing to do with WHO developed it and WHO published it but rather the quality of their work. Obsidian botched it and it was a slap in the face to their fans. TC as long as you understand that the game is broken then you may very well get a little enjoyment out of it.
It was a great game, highly underrated. Just don't play it like it's a shooter, that's why most people hated it.kieranb2000Perhaps, but I didn't care for it for multiple reasons and among them are that it's a generic third person action/ adventure game with poor game mechanics and A.I.
Meh...It's average at best in my personal opinion. I bought it used because I wanted to branch out from the recent RPG's I had been playing, but like you, was weary of the mixed reviews. There is nothing that is personally outstanding here, and even though the story could be engaging, since the choice system is by far the best thing going for it, the main character is so unlikeable it makes playing the story a pain.
[QUOTE="kieranb2000"]It was a great game, highly underrated. Just don't play it like it's a shooter, that's why most people hated it.MetsuHadoken123Perhaps, but I didn't care for it for multiple reasons and among them are that it's a generic third person action/ adventure game with poor game mechanics and A.I. There wasn't really much generic about it at all, the story and how it's presented was pretty unique, all the actual RPG parts of it, like the dialogue trees were handled in a really unique way (which I really hope Bioware takes some tips from for Mass Effect 3) and the stealth mechanics worked well. I only encountered poor game mechanics and AI when trying to play it like an Action/Adventure game rather than a Stealth RPG. But that's probably because it's not an Action Adventure game.
I am so glad I bought it, I have found it to be one of the best game on ps3. I am on my second playthrough and even though the story has the same basic plot line I am playing it so differently that it feels like a brand new game.
Depending on your choices the last mission can progress COMPLETELY differently. I mean literally my friend's last mission had none of the same enemies in it as mine, and ended differently. It is pretty impressive.I am so glad I bought it, I have found it to be one of the best game on ps3. I am on my second playthrough and even though the story has the same basic plot line I am playing it so differently that it feels like a brand new game.
