I have some interest in it, I haven't really enjoyed Gta since Vice City. I couldn't believe how boring Gta IV was for me personally. I will have to see more of the game before I make any decisions. I'm more focused on saving up for PS4 at this time.

OP, you're reasonable.

The three common reasons people say they aren't into GTA5:

1. GTA IV disappointed them

2. They don't feel GTA5 will make any changes to the drive-and-shoot formula

3. They think GTA is trashy, gangster game where you only kill prostitutes.

I'm looking forward to GTA V hopefully it's not as disappointing as GTAIV however I did enjoy Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned.  I'm looking forward to Saints Row IV more since I like how the game doesn't take it's self seriously.

Im not either.

Ill get it at some point when the price drops a significant amount, maybe 20 bucks or less.

I got tired of GTA a long time because every game is the same thing really. The novelty of driving around a big city and listening to radio stations wore off at vice city. Really the characters and stories arent that great and I get no enjoyment out of playing a 40 hour game just to get 6 hours worth of story.

But every GTA is the same game really, plays the same, always youre a guy who used to do bad stuff but tried to get away from it and now brought back into the game. Ever red dead was the same thing.

Yeah, that's pretty much my views, too. I just honestly don't feel all that hyped for it. Chinatown Wars was the last GTA game I actually bought and the only other one I've ever consider playing recently, ironically enough, isn't even a *new* GTA, but rather San Andreas (I actually didn't get to play when I had a PS2). I just don't understand all the crazed excitement for something that generally looks 'more of the same' to me....

So as the title says, am I really one of the few that's not excited for the new GTA?

I found GTA IV to be a huge disappointment. I bought it for the ps3, and it was incredible badly optimised to the point that the game was unplayable at some points. Not only that, but the story itself was incredible dull, and the interactions with your family and friends were downright tedious. I seriously still cannot believe that it was rated 10 on some gaming sites.

But one of the biggest dissappointments for me was, that you have this huge world to interact with, yet nothing you do will have a meaningful effect. You could commit the worst offences and yet it doesn't matter, because the plate will eventually be whiped clean. Now you will probably point out to me, that this is how all the GTA series has been, and that it needs to be this way, so that when you die and come back you aren't immediately shot on sight. But nevertheless, why is it, that when you become CRAZY ass gangster no one in the world cares about you besides missions or anything of the sort, and there's practically nothing DYNAMIC happening in the world - You're driving around, maybe just trying a new car, when suddenly out of the blue, you're being chased by a hit squad sent from a syndicate you pissed off a few missions ago. Or you're suddenly being chased by a bunch of journalist that are chasing you in the streets. But nothing like this ever happens.

That being said, I also see why the GTA series is so damn attractive, but ultimately I just find the whole experiece shallow fun.

Sorry for my rant. xD

I'm pumped for this and yeah gta iv was a let down, it was different indeed...great graphics etc but it was lacking in many departments,  reason why I am so pumped is because well look at where its located, I played hours even marathons playing gta sa on ps2 and pc with samp and mods, its easily in my top 3 games of all time, so seeing a fresh updated san andreas is very exciting to fans of san andreas.  there's no cj but that's ok even though cj in this would drive R* revenue through the roof! by far my favorite protag apart from tommy v!

*grudging agreement*

I knew I wasn't the only person that felt this way. I'll probably pick it up when it drops to $30.

This is getting me more interested in GTA5.  I have only played 4 and I found it grim.  I figured they were going for "the mean streets" days of N.Y. and going a too far.  Now... If GTA5 captures "The SoCal Vibe" I will be very, very happy.
