Do you seriously believe that PSM are telling the truth? If so then answer me this, why would Sony release such important information to PSM first, and why doesnt any other place have this imformation?

because PSM is one of the best magazines u can get to find stuff out about playstation and everything else in it is true so why wouldn't the PS3 be true i think the PS3 looks cooler then any other system

I've looked in another magazine and it has the same picture as the one in the PSM

Here is all it has about the PS3 in that Playstation magazine. As crazy as it sounds PLaystation 3 will be playable at E3... in the one form or another. It'll be unveiled before that possibly by the end of March in Japan. So. with the world's first glimpse of Sony's next console right around the corner, we decided to present out take on what it could look like, based on everything we've heard from (and confirmed with) out various developer sources on the down-low

We may not actually see what the first PS3 will look like until later this year (the system is likely to launch in Japan in early 2006 and here in the fall of next year) so, until then demos and playable games will more than likely be shown on a clunky-looking development system.

That said, knowing what we know, it's exciting -- not to mention challenging -- to try and put a "face" on the system while trying to fit in all of the features we know it will have.

The design of the PS3 takes its cues from the PSP to create a look that's highly unique and not at all toy-like. Keeping in mind that space can often be a premium in many gaming setups, the PS3 is the same width as the original PS2. Say goodbye to cords:PS3's controllers will be wireless from the get-go. No more drive tray: The PS3 will feature a quiet slot loading Blu-Flay drive "hidden" in a glowing strip that illuminates when the system is on, and changes color each month, like the PSP's XMB interface. Like later-model PS2's and the newer slimline version, the PS3 will include a built-in infrared sensor for DVD remote support right out of the box. The two controler ports are kept merely for back-wards-compatibility's sake. The memory card slots support *MB PS2 cards and new 32MB= PS3 cards. So the PS3 can now hold up to 32MB of memory. Two USB 2.0 ports are joined by a standard Memory Stick slot -- the PS3's 'mass storage" media, in lieu of a hard disk. It also makes working with data from cameras and the PSP's a snap. Like the redesigned slim PS2, PS3 is online-ready out of the box with LAN and modem connections. HDMI is emerging as a new standard for high definition connection, combining HD video signal and audio in a single cable.

EYETOY: IN OR OUT? We reported on this several issues ago, but it appers that Ken Kutaragi, "father of the playstation," is still intent on PS3 including a next -generation version of the EYETOY camera capable of sensing movement in 3D and enabling the system to do things such as loading save games and profiles using facial recongnition. The big question: Will it be part of the system, removable in some way, or a completely separate component like the current EYETOY? If your PS3 is on the floor, inside an entertainment center or off -center from where you're sitting, having the "eye" built in would be very limiting. If it's part of the system, but removable, it could make the PS3 look... weird. That's why we're of the opinion that it will be a separate device that plugs into the PS3 with a cable, so you can position it anywhere you like.

NO! The only time recently there's been that big a defection was rare being bought by MS. But Rare was not a first party. Bungie is a FIRST PARTY. They are owned by Microsoft. Quit asking of Halo 3 will be on the ps3. Its like asking if Burger King will start selling big Mac's

2. But I heard a rumor that (insert exclusive title on other platform here) will be on ps3!

3. When is the ps3 coming out?

No one knows now, and if they say they do, they're lying. The early dev kits just went out, so all signs point to 2006, not 2005. E3 should give us a clear indicator

4. What does the ps3 look like

Again, we won't know until E3. Just wait.

5. So what is E3?

Electronic Entertainment Expo. Its held in California, and only open to people with press credentials. Its the big gaming expo there is, and is where companies show off their products. Sony's officially press conference will be held within the first couple days.

6. Will the ps3 play PSP games?

No. See, Sony wants to make money off the PSP. If you could play PSP games on the ps3, nobody would buy a PSP, and developers would have no idea how strong the fanbase is, and what acceptable development costs are.

7. Why is it called "Final" Fantasy if there are 11 installments and counting?

None of the games are related, they all have different stores. (Not FFX and FFX-2, but FFX-2's story is so bad, that you should just do like me and pretend it doesnt exist. Also just pretend like the last scene in FFX didnt happen, and you'll be fine.

8. Why did (insert GS reviewer here) give (insert game here) this score?

Cause they felt like it.

9. Will the ps3 cost $500?

NO. Sony's greedy, but not dumb. Anything over 400, 350 really will completely flop. Look at the Sega Saturn. If Sony were to ask $500, people would just move to pc gaming. If you're going to spend that much, you may as well have upgradeable parts

this is what i have heard so far:

the system will cost roughly $300.

and what i have heard from my brother is that the first PS3 this side of the pacific will be made in Fletcher, Ohio by way of Systemax.

does anyone have any information on this to back it up?

p.s. the reason that i heard that Systemax is doing it is b/c my brother and uncle both work there.

The PSP doesn't cost 300USD. :| And it has a build in screen plus the small size makes it more expensive to make.

Another reason why the PSP is priced 250USD is because the demand is much higher than the production and when that happens in any liberal economy the prise will automatically be adjusted( anything else would be silly of Sony, especially because they are not going to sell less).

I think it would be very potable it won't make any noise. It will have a cool new online, it would come in different colors, you can donload music, ect.
