Tekken 2 psx classic
Tekken 6 is also pretty good...most of the characters you can win in a few simple moves on offline mode...Online is a nightmare for me because right now only the hardcore players are online and they know everything for their character...it drives me crazy
It;s hard to find any good fighter that's simplistic. Just pick up Super Street Fighter 4. It's very simple to pick up, but very technical/hard to master. verbalfilth
All the Super Smash Bros games are simplistic and fun... are there any fighters to the same degree?
Tekken 6 and the Tekken games on PSN are easy to pick up and play, as well as Street Fighter 4 and the Alpha series on PSN. They're basically button mashers (don't hate). Start on the lower difficulties and get used to the characters and it shouldn't take long to beat the games in the higher difficulties. It's not like Virtua Fighter where it takes supreme dedication to be just good at it.

Well, if that's what you're looking for I can't help you. I personally don't even consider Smash bros a fighter, but rather a genre of its own. Kind of the way I wouldn't call a wrestling game a fighter.Tekken 6 and the Tekken games on PSN are easy to pick up and play, as well as Street Fighter 4 and the Alpha series on PSN. I have flame shields in red, purple, pink and black. Which one would you prefer to carry with you into the battle you might be undertaking? :P

Well I'll be willing to go outta my way abit lol, I was good at Fighters Destiny on N64, so anything relatively easy to learn and doesn't have insane combos to learn... I liked the sound of Tekken because you can fight as what looks like a Wallabi :P .... also anything like Super Smash Bros, also one of my friends suggested BlazBlue... whats that like?
ssbm is actually quite a difficult game to be good at...just try takin on a tournament lvl player...XP and sf4...is a really good game...its not 3rd strike or sf2...but its still a good game...im not sure there is a simple fighter out there....well i mean one thats actually worth the money...

Blazblue is probably the most complex fighter listed in this thread. The speed is super fast, there are many variables you have to keep your eye on simply on the HUD display, in addition to that, the game revolves primarily around landing combos. Combos come in different types in Blazblue, hard, long, complex, simple etc. Anyways, long answer short, it's complex and falls too far away from what you might be looking for. Maybe you might like Powerstone. Check out the game and see if it might appeal to you.[QUOTE="verbalfilth"]It;s hard to find any good fighter that's simplistic. Just pick up Super Street Fighter 4. Won't take much longer to learn any other fighting game, I reccomend SF4 (or SSF4, if you want to spend a little bit more money for a updated game), Soul Caliber 4 (or whatever that newer one is, the one with Vader), or pick up a cheap fighting game from PSN. Like one of the PS1 Classics.[QUOTE="00Killaz00"][QUOTE="verbalfilth"]

Yea best fighting game out right now, but probably not best for a beginner.[QUOTE="00Killaz00"][QUOTE="verbalfilth"]It;s hard to find any good fighter that's simplistic. Mortal Kombat II off psn

Bingo. No combos at all. You can link hits together, but youll never see 10 hit combo flashing on the screen.
SC4 is pretty easy to pick up and learn as well. Also, its not rly considered a "fighting" game. But Fight Night Round 4 is rly fun and approachable too. EVERYBODY has liked playing that one at my house. It might be more up your alley.
For the PS3, I'd recomend Soul Salibur 4 or Tekken 6. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm is pretty good too, and exremely simple.
I'd stay away from Street Fighter for now though, good games, but they are complicated and not friendly to beginers.
If a Wii game is okay, Super Smash Bros Brawl is a great simple game. Or Melee for the gamecube.
DC vs Mortal Kombat, no need to double dash cancel into super EX **** it's simple moves and you don't need to master characters with 40 hours/week of gameplay. Are there any (arcade) fighting games that don't require endless combos and isn't to hard to pick up and learn?

Marvel vs Capcom 2on the PSN store.
-Hoax-
Lol I loose nearly every match in that game.... when I look at the move list it's like scribbled with dirt, can't see a single thing and I end up just button smashing my way to defeat lol.
if you can find it in a store itll be like 50p lol rival schools amazing game on ps1 where some of the stronger moves all you had to do was press the shoulder buttons instead of forwards to backwards up down left right triangle square circle circle circle :PAre there any (arcade) fighting games that don't require endless combos and isn't to hard to pick up and learn?

I'm pretty certain the Naruto games are pretty darn simple.

Indeed, the latest one on the ps3: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is a simple 3D fighter. Looks decent and can be fun, but it has exploits so if you wanna play online, be prepared for spamming. There's no hard, long combo to learn though. If you're playing with friends who just wanna have fun, then it's good enough. Although it'll take a while to unlock all characters.
