I am... god I want a new console already. The only thing I'm looking forward to (a little) is the next Twisted Metal. Games on console are really looking lame to me now and I want something new.

...Although I might feel this way because I only recently finished Dark Souls and nothing really appeals to me anymore. I want a new console with a new Souls game on it! NOW!

Pretty happy with my PS3! Not looking forward to dropping several hundreds of dollars on something that will make my old system obsolete. I don't think a new console will solve your lack of excitement. We just need more games with something new going on. Twisted Metal for example has been so long in coming it feels like something different. Not a ton of car combat games out there

Yeah exactly. Something fresh and not a shooter. I really hope it turns out to be a good game.

I'd have to agree with you; I'm definitely ready for the next generation of consoles to come around. The hardware limitations are annoying, especially when you see how well a game like Battlefield 3 performs on a high-end PC. I'll admit, I'm a graphics whore. Don't get me wrong though, graphics aren't everything when it comes to making a great game. I just hope this Pachter guy is wrong and we won't have to wait until 2014 to get our hands on a successor console. I have no problem forking over $300-$400, hell, even $500 for a new console.

I'm not ready for a new gen. I haven't even had my PS3 a year, and people are still buying PS3's.

Maybe in 2-3 years, I will look to purchase PS4. I refuse to buy a launch system that will cost like +$700, have bugs and has just a handful of good games.

Am I ready for the PS4? ... No. I am honestly having too much fun with the PS3 to even consider playing a new system (with the exception of the current systems already out). Technologically, are we even ready for a new gaming system to hit the market? Sony is still investing a lot of it's resources and they are constantly upgrading their system to honestly move on to another system. It would be like buying a new game, completing 50% of the campaign and moving on to the next game because it is new. Again, this is only my personal opinion.

i think its too soon for a new system, need to hold off for more technology advancements cause as of right now what is there to offer that we dont already have? plus in this economy myself and im sure alot of others will not buy an overpriced launch system after the things we went through this generation, and that will cost even more money loss for the companies and for god sakes i really dont want everything to focus on digital distribution

your not seeing the bigger picture, yea release it now and if the companies lose so much money on people not buying it, there would be no money to produce games for it in two years, i sure dont want sony to go the way of sega where they just publish games for the former competitors

I'm happy to buy new hardware provided there is good software for it, which is all that matters in the end. I'm also not convinced that just better graphics or AI justifies the introduction of a new console. What I really want to see is PS4 turn up with optional Sony HMZ-T1 that has motion tracking so we can really start to step into the game world.

Fall 2013 is a sweet spot for me. I feel like the Playstation 3 is just hitting its stride and has pletty more good games to show before we need an upgrade. That being said, I wouldn't mind it being shown at this years E3 in order to get the blood pumping and people excited.

Nope, even when it comes out I'm not going to get it the first day, going to wait at least a year or two before I get one.

I dont buy launch systems anymore. Ps2 fat had issues, Ps3 fat has issues, original 360 has big issues....

Its better to wait and buy the newer model of each system. Ps3 slim > ps3 fat, ps2 slim > ps2 fat, newer 360 > original 360.

I hope they do release a Ps4 soon so maybe ps3 systems reduce in price.
