I'm playing on the normal mode and I'm dying countless times.. I'm at the end of the "six months later" chapter and i'm stuck at the helghast camp, and the exoskeletons are coming at me on top of helghast soldiers, and there's barely ANYthing to hide behind.. i also have a helghast assault rifle, but i'm just completely stumped here, can't get past it.

and yeah i've read strategy guides, but all they do is tell you what's happening in the game... gamespot's "guide" is incredibly worthless. any advice would be great.

That part is nothing compared to the jetpack part and the freaking last part. This game has way too many cheap deaths. The Helghast assault rifle has terrible accuracy, but for some reason, the Helghans always get my head and knock me out to critical status with only few shots even at considerably far range. I don't know, but it feels like they have more hit points than I do.

Oh god, it gets worse... I might just say screw the campaign, the multiplayer is fun as it is. I can't handle cheaply difficult games, I just don't have the patience, haha

Turn down the difficulty if you can't beat it.. I had no problems, and i've gone through it twice already.

Playing on normal is probably harder than most other (shooters) on normal. I was thinking that as I was playing. With all the checkpoitns and whatnot it's hard to call any of these shooter games hard anymore. I died plenty of times compared to say... Black Ops.But it wasn't *THAT* bad. There really shouldn't be anywhere you get stuck more than 3 or 4 consecutive deaths on normal difficulty.

BTW people are saying the Elite difficulty is signifanctly EASIER than in Killzone 2.

Really? I think it has a good fun difficulty and I'm playing on hard. I think Rico's healing power makes the game manageable.

The normal difficulty can catch you by suprise if you don't mind your cover. Try advancing slower than you normaly would, focus on staying behind cover when your health is low and utilize timed grenade throws when enemies won't move from their cover positions. I'm halfway through the game (second playthrough) on Elite difficulty and those are some key tactics to use. Don't worry, just keep at it and you'll find your groove in no time!

omg dude. once i got to the part where i had to defend the isa base i died like a dozen times and now with the jetpack chapter i die all the time. i played killzone 2 and that was one of the toughest games. i knew kz3 would be tough but jeez. i am only on normal and i keep getting raped in some parts. i plan on playing this with the move attachment and i only hope its easier. killzone 2 was one of my favorite games of the gen, and i loved conquering elite difficulty, but i dont know if im up for it again for killzone 3.... then again, im glad theres some games out there that really test my skills.

Kilzone 3's elite difficulty is waaaaaaay easier then 2's. I actually had to look up a strategy on youtube for visari's palace on elite. I noticed that I died the least playing on elite (not counting the VERY last part which was BS) because I had played through on normal and hard first

Killzone 3 is extremely easy compared to KZ2. The only annoying thing is the terrible checkpoints. And sometimes it seems like you reached a checkpoint, quit the game, only to come back to find out you have to redo a portion of the mission again.

I don't know, KZ2 was actually legitimately hard, as in you learn from your mistake,s develop strategies, and get better after every death, KZ3 (from OP, I haven't played it yet) sounds more cheap.

I'm playing on normal. I'm at the part where you just got the doors opened (after the jetpack part and the part after that) and you have to rescue Narviille). I died probably a total of 7 or so times (not counting the times I was downed and revived) so yeah I died a few times, but it's not that hard on normal.. so far. But I think I'm well in, aren't I?

I know the part you mean. You may not know there is a missile launcher next to the ammo refill; I used mounted guns for the Hig scum which are gradually destroyed. Then I frantically ran from cover to cover using the missile launcher against the exoskeletons. Definitely harder than the likes of Bad Company & Halo but I like a challenging FPS.

Man you have to try harder...I am by no means a great FPS player and I got through it, even with a lot of deaths. My main problem was thinking I was invincible and running into the open without cover and trying to kill stuff...it never works. You need to hide and when you get hurt, make sure you heal up before you pop out again. All guns in this game are good, unless you're using a shotty and trying to shoot far. Just be accurate with your shots, dont hold down the trigger, keep tapping it.

Dont skip the campaign, it is by far the funniest part of the game for me.

KZ3 is easier than KZ2 by a mile...Its still not EASY but KZ2 was ridiculous...especially the palace and Radec. I probably died 50-100 times.

Yea dude, I passed the palace on the next difficulty level after normal and it was sooo hard, the AI is brutal. I couldn't beat Radec though, I gave up lol.

I just beat the campiagn today on normal. I agree it is quite challenging at times under the normal difficulty. Outside of some cheap spam deaths, I never really found the difficulty cheap, you just have to use cover. "Running and Gunning" and "Spraying and Praying" don't work in this game after the first set of missions.

The last mission in the game was pretty challenging, I died quite a few times, but I got through it thankfully. I don't mind a little challenge in games these days. Most FPS games these days you can beat the single player mode on normal without breaking a sweat.
