anyone go from phat to slim?

well i guesst his only relates to those whom whent from the phat to the slim psp. do you think you made the right choice? i do like having all the latest tech, and money isnt a big problem here right, since my Christmas just passed. and my b-day is oon so i wanted tto buy myself someting nice!

slim have more memory(64Mb).

it`s thinner.the battery can work more time.

just the more memory can make it to run more games,but the fat can`t.

ye you are right,the slim`s battery is just 1200mah,it`s a little small.

well the phat ismore sturdy and interms of features (skpe) both can do it if you have cfw, the slim has more memory.

well i only got a fat and no problems

never really looked back after getting slim.

on the other hand i still have my fat one though. the only really crappy thing about the slim is the UMD drive cover which feels pretty fragile, but i'm hoping for something like a PGP that was made for the original PSP.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the huge improvement of the d-pad and the more tactical feel of the buttons. That alone compelled me to upgrade ;) Also, it seems a lot more comfortable to hold during long play sessions. I ended up getting the white star wars slim which also really never shows fingerprints like my phat did.caliarbor

I have the old psp, and I tried using my friend's slim psp and it just felt like cheap plastic. the old one felt more rugged and sturdy instead of the cheap plastic feel. i'm not trying to offend anyone, it just felt that way. Know what I mean? I guess I use the old one too much and like that sturdy feel.feryl06

Smae though! today i used my friend´s Piano Black silm and it felt like PLASTIC(cheap palstic) i think i use my Phat PSP too much! but im staying with my old ps i anit buying no silm or lite that ¨Lite part¨ they copied it from the DS!

i am not going to switch either..i love how the old on feels in my hands. i have alot of stuff for it to. not going to give all that up for some new design....i love my psp

it is in fact more portable (slimmer and lighter), the D-pad is really improved, 64Mb of ram, tv-out, skype, you can use a phat's stamina battery so it'll last much longer (with another battery cover of course), I think that because of the ram the browser works better

it does feel like cheap plastic, the umd door is crappy, it is more fragile, I don't know you but I think it shows more fingerprints because is all shiny and glossy on both sides and I really hate that, tv-out is not that good because you need a tv that supports progressive scan and upscaling so it will play nicely

So, I have no idea what to do, and meanwhile I'll stay with my fatty psp

just PSP3.8 and PS31.8 they can connect on internet

I did the upgrade. Don't regret it one bit. I really like the lighter weight and I got a component cable so I can display on my HDTV.

as for fingerprint dont really notice them on the silver PSP, dont let the reduced weight make you think the slim is made of cheap plastic it's stronger than it looks, the door is about the same as before they only removed the spring loader. oh and tv-out is a great feature, but if you only have a standard def tv you can still use the feature for videos on your memory stick or umd movies.
