Anyone ignored the reviews and got WKC?

if so..please share your opinion on it :)

Oh, I payed attention to the reviews, I just dont let them influence my purchase, my opinions and impressions count.

Seems like most of the fair/O.K reviews may have been on the money though. Its not a half bad game so far but I have to say I expected more from level 5. The battle system is pretty meh, and the story isnt anything special.

The fact that neither the story or battle system is horrible, duh.

I'm only about 2 anda half hours in, But its fun so far. Not the best RPG ever but its fun.

I picked WKC up today, I am yet to play the game but will get to it (hopefully) later this evening. I have been following this since the PS3 initially launched and just feel I have to make the decision on how I feel about this game and take the reviews for what they are. Hopefully I have a different experience then IGN and Gamespot...

I think deep down I want to get this game despite the low scores from GS and IGN, but I don't want to spend 60 dollars on it. I could get it for a little cheaper at another site, but I wouldn't be able to play it for a month or so.

I don't know what to do. This game has got me all sorts of confused now.

forget reviews, all these obsession with AAAAAAA (whatever all the A's mean??) is crazy. One of the games I had the most fun with by far was called Conflict: Desert Storm for the PC. I bought it one day on a snow day cos I was bored. This was before I ever real used online sites and paid attention to reviews. Game was freakin awesome... look on here, 4.0... Some people take different things out of a game. This game never got me amped up, but if you lked what you saw originally, forget the dumb reviews, go buy it...chances are you'll enjoy it

Sorry, no, I have more important things to do with my time then waste it playing crap games. I'd rather replay older better games then to play a new release that sucks.JKnaperek

I made the executive decision and bought it. I have not played it yet ,but the only knock on the game that concerns me is the difficulty. The story might be cliche or nothing revolutionary, but I have a thing for the traditional RPG. If only Square would make a game based in the Crono Trigger Universe, Now if that happened I would just sit in a room and foam at the mouth until it was released or get "chryogenically" frozen. Whichever is easier....

Yup, and I follow the same formula for every game I buy. Take note of , get hyped for it, pre-order (If money is available), purchase day 1 or when I can. Simple, no reviews read, no opinions noted. I'm happier with my games collection that way and I won't feel like I've wasted my money just because some "journalist" says the game isn't worth getting or some nimrod is trying to persuade people including myself from getting the game.

I've yet to actually play WKC since I'm swamped with games and I'm trying to take my time with them all....what makes it worse is that I've still got 5 more games to pick up in the next month or so :lol:

Btw did you see the GS and IGN reviews of chocolate? Yeah, they said it sucks so all of you who have never tried it just completely avoid because your opinion has already been formulated for you.

I read the reviews and made the decision to buy it based off of the fact that i loved Dark Cloud 2 and Rouge Galaxy. So far i'm not disappointed at all in the game. The combat system is actually not that bad to me. If you've played mmos before then you should feel comfortable with the battle system. I'm really not that far in, but the story is a little predictable, but what RPG these days isn't?? Character customization can be pretty deep if you're willing to take the time. Like i said i'm not that far into the game at all, but it all feels familiar. From what i've played i can tell that i'm going to like this game ( i also love Disgaea 3 and Cross Edge which received low scores). If you liked what you saw in the game play videos for this game i say buy it. I can't wait to get to the online portion :). I hope that helped you out a little bit

I got WKC and i must say....

It's Fantastic.

Don't know what the heck everyone is complaining about. It's a good JRPG. As good as BLUE DRAGON and def up there with LOST ODYSSEY.

I think the voice acting is great. NOLAN NORTH FTW!!!!

The reviewers complained about the lip syncing but I don't care. I generally read sub titles on every movie and game i purchase anyway.

The reviewers complained they were waiting a lot to do damage. But I waited for my little ATB bar to slowly move in almost every FF game. This is the same thing but with a circle instead of an ATB bar. AND its only MAX 2-3 Seconds to attack. 1,2,3 Attack.. 1,2,3 Attack. I swear its THAT fast.

The reviewers complained the story was predictable. Are they serious?? I love these kinds of stories!!! I love love love LOVE stories in videogames about rescuing someone you love and saving the world. NO, let me play a game where i go to college and sit to play videogames. AKA reality. I play games to escape that.

The reviewers complained the graphics looked like ps2 graphics. Come again?? The game is in FULL 1080p. It looks beautiful on my 52' Bravia. The draw distances are astounding, and the monsters are all cool looking. The Dragon Knight and White Knight are amazing sights to behold.

The reviewers complained about the battle system being boring. I have literally spent 4 hours so far building/testing/perfecting the combo system. Its the best part of combat. I made a combo where i attack, lunge, cast a fire sword, strike up, and finish off with an air combo on an enemy!! Its so AWESOME! not as spectacular as BlazBlue aerial combos, but just as fun and rewarding to pull off.

I haven't even touched the online or synthesized anything yet. Its deep as heck.

Truly, this game is just being overshadowed by reviewers who played Mass Effect 2 first. In it's defense, WKC is over 1 1/2 years old but its still a classic!

Well as of today im about 6 hours in, seems like a 7 to me so far.
