I'm looking for a game on PS3 to immerse myself in. I was considering Dark Souls, but Dust 514 seems cool. Any thoughts?

Dark Souls.
One look at the PSN pricing for anything you might want to actually play "Dust" to win is ridiculously priced... That F2P horsesh** is for the birds...
I've played a couple of games in Dust 514. If it was a payed game it would be horse sh!t but since its free... you cant go wrong with free
there have been some big updates since i last played dust (like a different spawning system and some other new systems on top of some tweaks) so it wouldn't be fair for me to say much about its current state. dark souls and demon's souls are among my favorite games this generation so i obviously recommend them both highly.
Nah, the starter weapons in Dust 514 are fine.. And you can buy them with ISK, which you earn in game. I don't prefer the F2P myself, but there are definitely F2P games that do it right, DOTA 2 being the biggest example, and Dust 514 is another.Dark Souls.

I spent few hours with the beta, unfortunately it wasn't my cup of tea. There isn't much wrong with it, I would at least try it out if you're into first person shooters.
I really like it because I only play FPS for a few months and get bored, its nice to have a free one that I can just pick up and return to without shelling out big bucks.
You get out what you put in. If you play a lot you can unlock a lot better weapons and armour, even without playing. However be prepared to die a lot at the beginning, it does get better the higher level you are. Good for free to play and pick up to play a few quick games, not something I would invest much in. I might pay up to $10 by the end of my playing time.
I messed around in Dust a bit the other day. I wasn't really getting into it, though I thought some aspects of it were alright. It seemed kind of clunky and awkward to me. Maybe I'm really just used to how smooth Halo matches usually played out for me.
I'm hoping that when Destiny comes out, I'll have another FPS game that I can enjoy on the PS3. Otherwise, shoot-outs in the RDR multiplayer might be fun.
