Anyone who doesnt like the Dissidia demo?

the lines for cloud and sepiroth are so depressing. why are they so emo. "i won't sleep well tonight". they could have come up with better lines for him than these. too many emo one liners.

I smiled because he made it sound like all FF games is a golden egg of perfection.

he also said "then gtfo and play Halo" just like he makes fun of halo fanboys when he is clearly a FF fanboy

I loved it. The combat is so much fun. Btw, the demo does not have all of the moves for each character I believe, for those who are complained about the lack of different attacks. The full game is going to have a lot more going for it then what was offered in the demo including customizable characters and equipment, a 40+ hour story mode, unlockable items, and the ability to edit your fights into videos.

I've actually noticed that people who aren't hardcore fans of the FF series actually prefer cloud over many other characters...I can only guess because these people don't get to know other FF characters and because maybe (to them) cloud looks cooler than the earlier characters. Heck, with as popular as FFVII is, maybe those people never even get the chance to look into other FF games.

Garland also has a fat sword (not sure if it's as long as Cloud's, but I know it's thicker.)

who cares about chain sword (it is better then gun blade) but still, the real deal is always better

I don't want to trigger a whole "Cloud love/hate" argument, but personally, I dislike this decade's introduction of the word "emo" in general to describe people who are openly exhibitors of their emotions. Granted, yes, sometimes the term fits the situation, but there are other, probably more polite ways of saying what you mean to say. Anyone who's played enough of the FFVII games knows that Cloud has had it rough. He probably would have come out a completely different person if he never signed up with Shinra in the first place. To just dismiss him as a good main FF character because he's a "whiny emo" (urgh, that phrase annoys me so much) is really silly, I think. Squall was totally apathetic for a good long time and then he's a lot more likable by the end of VIII...and most people really like him too.

People might not consider VII their all-time favorite RPG or FF anymore, but that doesn't mean it's no longer a really great FF or RPG. I don't understand why it is that in order to like or love any particular Final Fantasy games, we have to also hate on at least one Final Fantasy game. The series has always been high quality and continues to be high quality and groundbreaking. Try to remember that.

I agree with you. I hate the word emo with every fiber of my being especially when its linked to Cloud. If people can not fully understand what the character has gone through, why he is the way he is, and how much he has changed through the course of the games/movie then thats their own fault. Cloud is not emo.

I also dislike the fact that people say you arent a hardcore FF fan if you prefer FFVII to the other games. It is extremely rude to group together people you know nothing about. I have played all of the FF games except FFV, I love them all for different reasons but to this day FFVII is still my favorite. Everyone has a different taste and we should respect that.

I play FF7 and I understand what ya mean BUT, shouldent cloud burden be over by now, havent it been like 3 years after FF7? that why I call him EMO. his issues SHOULD been over in FF7 so in AC/this game you could see him in action and HOW he is as a person AFTER this.

let not forget that the writing in seven wasent the best so it somtimes just made it sound bad^^

^OMG, this too. What the heck is UP with that! All it takes to be a hardcore FF fan is to be in love with multiple FF games, like you've fallen hard for the series and you're always impatiently waiting for the next installment. Anything on top of that (having played half or more of the main titles, owning at least one soundtrack on CD, etc. etc.) is icing. There really is no need or place for it. Because all it does is trigger these absolutely illogical and unintelligent arguments about which characters are better than others, which games are better than others (and we all know both of those topics are completely subjective) and each person ends up defending their favorites with their lives and they don't need to. Like what you like, love what you love.

He did get over it at the end of FFVII. Cloud moved on with his life and was actually happy, which can be seen in the Novel that comes in the Limited Edition of AC as well as the new scenes in Advent Children Complete. In Advent Children Complete, he has once again blocked himself off from the world but not because of past events. He leaves to try to find a cure for the Geostigma and he is upset that he can not help his family in his current state.

Dissidia is not after AC, it is an alternate universe, like FF characters in KH. The characters are suppose to mimic their story/personality from their original games. Which is why Cloud is the way he is.

Yeah, seems more about Cloud than anything...and about Zack, I'm not going to say anything about your opinion there, because I'm not that type of person. In response to some of the other messages I've read, yes, it is possible to still prefer FFVII even if you've played all of the other games. It's one of the highest rated (9.5 on here I think)

Although FFVI is my favorite, (8.9) I noticed that FFIV, before it was remade for the DS, was an 8.3 (If I remember correctly) but with better graphics and cutscenes added in, the DS version was bumped up to a 9.0 (.7 points)

If that's so, then if FFVI were remade on the DS (or higher) wouldn't it get around a 9.5-9.6 like FFVII?

Sorry if that didn't have much relevence to this, but I guess everyone went off-topic a long time ago :P
