Are you a PS3 defender?

I mean out of my friends I'm the only one that owns a PS3.:?

I don't have a PS3 yet but I have had alot of experience using them and I tell people what I think. I only correct people if they give out blatantly dishonest information

E.G.: Bluray discs only hold 1/3 as much as HDDVD discs. (no)

As a dude who owns a video game store, I have to stay painfully honest. I'd love to recommend the PS3 to each and every customer, but budgets and tastes vary and I won't sell something to a customer when I think they'd do better on the alternates.

That said, I do my best to illuminate the lies with the truth and point out what makes the PS3 a technically superior system (the programmers need to get their brains around it, but that was the same problem with the PS2, the code was relatively obtuse until devs fiddled with it for a bit. I'm certain we'll be seeing the graphics bar getting raised within the next year.)

To answer the question, if somebody attacks it, that's their prerogative. If somebody attacks it with lies, that's another matter entirely.

I love video games and quickly become addicted to whatever games thatplease me it does not matter what system it is on. But being brought up on the playstation consoles andhaving so much fun on themits easy to see why i love the Playstation 3. Xbox360 is great too and wii is fun in its own ways but plasystaion just feels right to me and i am used to the way things are set up. So usually when people ask my opinon i try to answer the questions truthfuly but most of my time my answer is more pro for the PS3

if asked about 360: I ask "great fps huh?" when answered yes, I say "I've got PC and 360, and I really don't give crap about shooter on 360." When answered no, I say "so name a game on 360 that's worth it in your opinion that isnt shooter." If answered "Mass Effect,", then "got that, anything else?"

if Asked about Halo 3. I pointed over to PC Half-Life 2, and say "try that one for a change, you will like that one better when u grow up".

No real need to defend PS3, it's just a different system from 360, let them feel their ego until MGS4 and FF comes out next year.

Whoaaa. You took this thread way too seriously and out of context as well. I'm not saying you're shooting people that have a different opinion than you. I just wanted to know if other PS3 owners found themselves "defending" the PS3 or at least selling it's advantages as vociferously as I do. It's not about "getting on with your life" or not. It's just a simple question that applies to most PS3 owners who have a conversation about the system with other gamers. I could take your same attitude towards most things....

SPorts? What team is better? I don't care. I get on with my life.

Cars? Which is faster? I don't care. I get on with my life.

Okay, I'm wondering how many of you find yourselves in the position of defending the PS3 whenever it comes up amongst friends or whatever. Recently I was at a friends house and a few of his buddies had yet to get a console. They heard I had a PS3 and they immediately had questions. I answered everything I could as honestly as I could but I found myself giving very...well...pro PS3 answers. Not that I bashed anything else, but all my PS3 answers were came off very enthusiastic while my answers for the other systems was very mundane at best. So I'm wondering is this just me or do you guys find yourselves doing the same thing when the PS3 comes up with people that own other consoles or are seeking to make their jump into the "next-gen" foray? I find I just don't bother.

Everyone I know prefers the Wii whereas I find playing with a stick to be a nauseating experience.

I know those who prefer the Xbox360 and I can't argue as I've been a former Xbox owner and know that it has more than a couple of good games. Of course, I got fed up with dealing with the hardware woes with the 1st Xbox and if anything, it appears they've gotten worse the 2nd time around.

So if anyone asks, I'd be more than willing to share my pro-PS3 views but then again, everyone's already decided by the time they sit down and talk about it. :P

I am the only one of friends who own a PS3. All of my frineds own a 360 and will battle to death to protect its name. Both by friends and I are extremely informed about video games and consoles, both in news, hardware, and software. When we go into a debate, I always defend the PS3, and we have fun debates becasue we are all so well informed. Usually, the debate ends with "But the PS3 is go expensive," and I will say: "It is worth the money: Almost one in three xbox 360's break, while the PS3's failure rate is almost nonexistant!!! Are you serious... why do so many people care so much they are just ENTERTAINING SYSTEM... and if yhou do feel so strongly about the PS3 why are yo wasting time here when you could be playing, ALL THE TIME.

There is nothing to defend. The only people slamming it are on System wars or kids that can't afford one. Throw in a developer or two that need to keep their name in the spotlight.

So they aren't selling as fast as Wii or 360. Gaming indusrtry changes extremely fast, Sony has been victim and victor before and they've done just fine. If you really like selling PS3 then get a job at a gaming retailer, I'm sure they'd love for you to sell some more.

PS3 can become one of the greatest systems ever. Its definetly improved the quality and style over PS2 and other systems.

I find myself sticking to the truth and why I personally bought the PS3. I can't give examples due to this is not a console war forum. But to keep a long story short, I have an easy time justifying my investment. In fact, I find myself not bashing the 360 (shows insecurity and doubting the PS3) If I am discussing consoles, I try to focus on how both machines are great. Sticking with the strengths.

To answer your question, yes..I do defend the PS3 because I enjoy the system very much! :)

i defend the PS3 because iown all 3 consoles and am not biast and ppl are always praising the X360 (which i love) but its an inferior system (hardware) with better games and expensive online.digxxbitty

true that i own a 360 and a ps3 one of my friends loves the 360 and i always have to defend the ps3 he always comes back with well xbox live is better im like psn is the same thing without having to pay money for every little thing and the he says well the lag i say well eventhough it doesnt lag a lot its aloud to cuz i dont pay for it and then he closes his mouth then i also throw in that the xbox imo lags more from what iplay(halo3) and yes it lags alot

same here. But i will be so happy when my friends will just gaze at my copy of Little Big Planet and MGS4 because they said that they want those games so bad.

No, people DO take it to that level. It does get way too far and out of control. I mean come on, how long have you been on the net? You don't understand my post. I don't care about who says what.
