Are you a PS3 defender?

Yes,I love my PS3,and this is what I would tell someone, if asked -If you love shooters like Halo 3, Gears of War,Bioshock, andPerfect Dark Zero, and the new RPG - Mass Effect, then get a 360. I, myself am WAY more interested in Metal Gear Solid 4(the main reason I went with PS3) Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Final Fantasy XIII, God of War III, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted,etc., so I bought a PS3. The PS3 is starting to get some good shooters too, like Resistance: Fall of Man, Unreal Tournament 3 (which can be played with a keyboard and mouse), 3rd party shooters like Call of Duty 4,and Killzone 2 on the horizon. The PS3 is obviously better hardware, with the included Blu-ray player (unlike the 360. which charges you $179 for HD DVD, which is nowhere near the high quality of the PS3's Blu-ray player) and a near zero failure rate, when compared to the 360's 35% failure rate with the red ring of death and disc scratching problems. Blu-ray discs can hold a lot more info than 360's DVDs. Metal Gear Solid 4, from what I heard, couldn't fit on even two 360 DVDs. Blu-ray is new technology, and they haven't quite figured out how to take advantage of the PS3's capabilities yet, but the PS3 is capable of handling far more graphical niceties than the 360. MGS4 will probably be the game most likely to showcase just that.

same here. But i will be so happy when my friends will just gaze at my copy of Little Big Planet and MGS4 because they said that they want those games so bad.

Wii owning friends:LBP is a rip off of Mii just like the siaxis is a rip off of the Wii mote. MGS sucks Mario owns.

360 owning friends:That stupid little kid stuff should be on the Wii. MGS sucks Master Chief owns.

The reason I become a "PS3 Defender" is more do to other people's ignorance than it is fanboyism. I own both an X360 Elite and 60g PS3, and what bugs me the most is the amount of inacurate things said about the PS3.

My three favorite arguements:

"THE PS3 IS TOO/MORE EXPENSIVE"- not to anyone who can count, or whom has actually taken the time to compare features and costs. Microsoft charges $199 for the HD movie attachment, then grabs $50 a year off you for your online support, updates and demos. Then, you've got to cross your fingers every time you turn the system on, because Microsofts "cheaper" system has been suffering hardware failures at 20-30% rate (I'm on my 2nd 360, my friend is on his 3rd). Long story short, I'd have to spend an additional $450+ in additional attachments and fees to get my 360 to do what my PS3 does just aswell orbetter right out of the box.

"THE PS3 HAS NO GAMES" - "Resistance Fall of Man","Heavenly Sword", "Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion", "Rainbow Six Vegas", "Call ofDuty4", "Ratchet and Clank FToD", "Uncharted Drake'sFortune", "Assassin's Creed", "HalfLife2 Orange Box", "Ninja Gaiden Sigma", "Ghost Recon AW2", "Warhawk", "Unreal Tournament3", "Lego Star Wars Complete", "FEAR", "The Darkness", "Folklore", "Jericho", "TimeShift", "Dirt", "MotorStorm", "Skate"...oh...and there are a few little titleson the way like"Final Fantasy XIII", "StarOcean IV", "GTA IV", "GranTurismo 5", "Metal Gear Solid 4", "LittleBig Planet","Killzone2", "Resident Evil5", "Haze", "Fallout 3" and such that just might be worth checking out.

Maybe people wouldn't have to become "PS3 Defenders" if so much of the crap talked about the system wasn't wholey inaccurate.

I honestly hate this stupid system war with this generation. My closest friends are like me and don't fight or argue over what system is better. Each of us has our own tastes and usually like one system over another, but don't bash each other over it. For example my friend prefers the 360 but finds nothing wrong with my PS3 and I find nothing wrong with him having a 360 and that's the way it way was like for me last gen with other people besides my friends. We all had our favorites, but would love to get together and play games regardless of what system we were playing it on.

The problem with this gen is that so many people rabidly support one system or another. I can't believe how aggressive they will defend the console they like (as if they were fighting for their life). They day I started to really hate this gen's system war was when I was talking to a couple people at school about video games. They were mainly talking about 360 games (which was fine with me) and then at some point in the conversation I brought up how I was looking forward to a PS3 game coming out (can't remember which one for sure, but I think it was heavenly sword). They all just game me a blank stare and a girl in the group just said, "Why the hell do you have a PS3? It sucks!" I was hurt... cuz it wasn't just bashing the PS3... it was bashing me. The continued to bash the PS3 and me for getting one so I basically ended the conversation there and just stopped talking to them. I was honestly just so surprised at that cuz they were very nice people until that point. And these were college people in the age range of 20-25, which I would expect a little more respect and maturity out of than some of a much younger age. I just don't get it... when did video games stop being entertainment and turn into politics, wars, and cults (whatever you want to call it)... at least that what it feels like to me. Besides on this forum, I usually don't even want to talk to people about video games anymore cuz I'm affraid that they are just gonna tear my head off for what ever reason and I think that's sad. Sorry if this all is pretty negative, I just wanted to put that out there.clsnbrdr616
