I always watch the cutscenes, sometimes in a poor game it gets a bit tedious but I always tough it out, the story is important to me.

I buy games for the campaign. Multiplayer is a bonus.

I watch the story. On the second playthrough, I mostly skip because the story is still fresh in my head.

Sadly, there are a lot of games that torture us by forcing us to watch the cutscenes without being able to skip it.

it depends on my mood but mostly i like online games so its usually not that important but if it is a new game, an anticipated game or a game that had high cost then I watch for sure

I never skip cut scenes in any game until I've seen them at least once.slimdave21

I usually skip irrelavant information, like most of the documents found through Resident Evil 5 for instance. I should read them though. xD

Story modes in games are awesome...better than most movies id say!jmnderson69

That's about my opinion! But some games make awsome multiplayer with the world like RDR.

It really depends on the game. The vast majority of games I will actively gloss over the story because it's garbage. This becomes difficult on games that are structured in such a way that the developers obviously thought their story was good (see FFXIII) and gave it plenty of emphasis. Story pacing is perhaps more important, as I don't mind watching a brief cinematic here and there as a bit of a break from gameplay. Infamous did that fairly well, as most of the story was told via audio and the few cinematics were very brief. I could leap around while I was getting exposition.
