Recently bought a ps3. Have it connected by hdmi from ps3 to tv. but audio isn't going through surround sound (obviously). I thought that getting the red and white audio cables and connecting them from the tv to the surround sound would work and change settings on ps3 menu. but this doesn't seem to work. I also thought of optical lead but my surround sound system doesn't have a port for this. Anyone be able to give me advise would be great. cheers Ryan

If your surround system doesn't have an optical port, you can't use it with your PS3. Sorry mate.

Doesn't work mate. I am 99.999% sure that the ps3 only picks up a surround system if you use an optical audio cable
