[QUOTE="TheSystemLord1"]This is maddening. Where, WHERE does it say that Microsoft paid Square for Star Ocean 4 and the Last Remnant exclusivity? When has Microsoft not been totally honest about their spending habits? When have they not told the world they spent ridiculous amounts of money in order to secure exclusives for their loyal customers.
Answer? They haven't. They pride themselves in spending the money to bring the games that their consumers want to their console. There is nothing, NOTHING written that says they paid for either game to be exclusive.
What IS written, is Square-Enix's president saying that they don't want Sony to be an overwhelming victor this time around and that they were going to spread things out this gen to the other consoles, including the Xbox 360.

your fanboyism is bigger than your control mechanism... paying for exclusivity is not bad thing. its"how the things work" way. the thing is sony doesnt care so ps3 owners lose many chances. sony got used to not pay money for exclusivity because they had 100 million ps2 unit sales so any company would choose ps2 to sell games more. however in this gen they should either go multiplatform or to machine that gives money even without selling games because there is no big difference in sales unlike ps2 vs xbox+gc
japanese people are more patriot then you are. when they visit a country and rent a car, they rent a japanese car, same goes for everything. thinking a japanese company to do a favor to an american company is out of question. so unless its business they wouldnt do that. m$ pays, se accepts. thats business. it was never meant to be fair anyway.
so its just disappointing news for ps3 owners.
also no company would brag what they paid for exclusivity, it wouldnt make sense.
There is no fanboyism in my post? I am just sick and tired of people pointing the proverbial shaking finger at Microsoft and screaming "bribery!" When it just isn't happening in this situation. Microsoft announces all of their major financial transactions because it is a very positive thing that shows they care deeply about the quality of the games available on their system.
To hear people bad mouth Microsoft out of jealousy that Sony won't man up and play ball just boils my blood. Microsoft is not to blame here, even if they were paying Square. Sony is to blame for thinking that they are still the king of videogames when they have been absolutely demolished this gen by both of the other consoles.
