backing up my hardrive

i dont got alot of stuff on my harddrive, but if i wanted to back it up could i use a flash stick? or can any detchable harddriveback up my data.

Depends on what exactly you want to back up. If you're only worries about game saves, videos, photos and/or photos, you'll only need a little memory device like a USB or flash card.

Otherwise you'll need an external hard drive (formatted to FAT32).

you can back up game save data, music and videos stored on the PS3's HDD to an external FAT 32 HDD, flash drive, or a memory card (if you're model has those slots)... These are the only things that you can back up, nothing else.
