I havent seen the movie in a long time, however, I am all about innovation in gaming. since the graphics are obviously top notch now, the best way to innovate is in gameplay or concept. Or , like the movies, now that the graphics are amazing we can re-create old goodies (an idea I like). I make posts like that all the time.
All that said, I need to watch the movie again to get a feel for your idea. However, I really really really like the way you think. Developers make games like car makers maker cars, safe and predictable, rarely going out of the saftey zone.
I think you should expand your topic to invite everyone, in the spirit of gaming, to contribute there own ideas to what they want a game to be made into.

ironic statements are ironic
but seriously the last thing the video game industry needs is more movie games that are clones of sucesful original games.
you give me a game that has a rocket launcher that shoots chainsaws and then explode and thats an instant buy for me
The adrenaline shot makes you cringe? What about that scene in the back of the pawn shop? THAT is cringe worthy......i hated pulp fiction. that adrenaline shot to the heart still makes me cringe.
