The single player campaign is fantastic. the challenge rooms are the most flawed thing i've ever seen. i know there are gonna be a bunch of arrogant know it alls that are going to say it was easy, but the combat challenges are overly hard. im all for challenge but not something that wants you to fail. if you're doing well, it will find a way to screw you. i had 35,000 points after the first round of one of them and it ended up screwing me. ill be in mid combo and aim to hit a guy standing next to me and it will punch air miss and then ruin the combo. its just a very flawed system and it makes me livid bc i want the achievements but it is impossible. they dont want you to win.

Unless you couldn't realize, the combat in this game is all about timing. It's your own fault you got screwed over because you don't time stuff right.

Challenge maps are easy and I have no problem getting high combos without taking a hit. The perfect knight trophy was so easy. :P

its true. ive been sitting here for 2 hours trying to get by this one challenge. theres always something new that it does to screw you. if you can beat the game on hardest with no issues, but this is giving you an issue then its a flawed system.

Exibit A: arrogant know it all claiming it was easy. theres always people like you on these forums. the ones that claim they've done it all. listen its not all about timing bc i time it fine. the problem is that i see a guy about to hit me but hes not that close to me so i jump half way across the room to another guy to hit him (nowhere near the original guy who was going to hit me) and the next thing i know, the guy that was going to hit me somehow glided across the whole distance of the room out of nowhere and hits me. but other times i expect them to glide across the room so i have the triangle button ready and they dont follow.

Woah did I attack you there mate? I'm just saying that you got to learn the right timing and one important thing. JUMP LIKE A MADMAN! I'm not claiming I know it all just because I play the game a lot. If the guy follows you, must be a glitch or something. For me they never do anything like that and countering is a breeze.

Settle down and drink some juice or something.

Its all about patience and timing, you have to pay attention to the enemies and your surroundings and make sure to counter at right times and know when to go in for a combo. Once you get it down, you'll have no problems with it then.

I have beaten the game. I just haven't refreshed my trophies. I don't have freeflow 40 because I usually stop somewhere in the 30s (Damn knife guys). I also have the perfect knight trophy (assuming that's the trophy where you don't get hit once). Hell I even have that stealth one.

I'm not a trophy whore so I'm not going to go into the 40s for combos or get the medals. You want to platinum it, that's your call.

no but youre saying its so easy. i find it hard to believe you can get through the extreme combat challenges getting the three medals without getting hit and only getting combos of 30. no perfect knight is the one where you get 100% of the game complete i believe including all medals for the challange rooms. i did the predator challenges no problem.

Well there you go. I don't have perfect knight. I guess I meant the flawless trophy where you don't get hit. As for getting combos of 30.... You can get out of a combo if you don't hit anyone. I jump around like crazy so a lot of times I jump far away so that I can't continue with my combo.

Again, you do what you want and say what you want. I think it's easy. You don't. That's the difference. Go ahead and get your trophies. :P

I think this "problem" was actually mentioned in GS's video review. Might want to check it out to confirm.

You seem really agrivated and need to vent. You say the single-player is great but just the difficulty of the challenges makes it BS? Try cooling down. It's not like they're their just to farm trophies, they're their for fun. There are 3 medals for a reason; you earn them. Really the plain fact is your not good enough.

I think the challenges are very hard, but it get's easier once you get how to get high variation bonuses. For me in particular the combat comes to me really easily (The combat, not the challenges! It's like stepping on a sea of explosive eggshells with you; wearing clown shoes) and I get very high combos, but I didn't get anywhere on the extreme challenges without variation bonuses, Free-flow perfection bonuses (Really hard to get top rounds), and Dark Knight bonuses (Nearly impossible).

I think the Invisible Predator challenges are much harder, because I'm not nearly as crafty as others. In fact one of the challenges I needed a walkthrough or it seemed nearly impossible. What mode are you playing on? I'm guessing Hard? The challenges are affected by difficulty too, so keep that in mind.

Lmao. Anyway, I got the Predator 24 medals, those were easy, maybe because stealth is my type of game, but I'm really having a hard time with the combat challenges, I hate those knife dudes. And my only rant would be the Freeflow Perfection one, I did every move and still nothing, maybe I missed something. And I don't know why but I already beat the game in Normal difficulty and later I noticed I didn't got the Poison Ivy trophy, weird. But yeah, you just gotta keep trying. Patience is a virtue.

The only problem I have is with the countering. It's kinda finicky, sometimes you'll counter, sometimes you won't.

I some what agree. I am in the same boat. got everything in the game minus the last 2 challenge medal trophies and the 40 hit combo trophy. I have no idea how some people are getting those scores. Someone had 4,000,000+ on shock and awe! They had to be cheating. Back to the topic, yeah I hate being in a good combo I throw a batarang at the guy in front of me and it curves around him to hit the wall and breaks my combo.

dude the 40 hit combo is so easy. i did it in-game singple player mode wtf. you just need the Critical Hit upgrade. it turns your combo into x2. so if you got 20 consecutive hits that's easily a 40-hit combo..and about the batarang, just tap L1 and it will automatically hit the guy it's in auto-aim basically. @_@

I have no doubt these challenges will be a nightmare for me, but in the same way easy for others. I have my strengths as a gamer, as other do. You just have to figure it out, practice etc.

Unlike most games out today, this one requires you to get better to succeed (as opposed to mindlessly mashing buttons hours on end until that trophy icon pops up). The only thing that stopped myself from getting a perfect score during every challenge was MYSELF. There wasn't one instance where I thought, "Hmm that shouldn't have happened." I kept trying, got better and beat the challenges.

Agreed, on this game you can't just ''smash'' buttons to win. I hate those guys with Pika-sticks. :(

Thier challenge rooms so of course thier suppose to provide a challenge. It really is all about timing and patience. You have the urge to go mash crazy and that ends up costing you, its very simple one tap of box equals one strike, you start mashing it and you lose count and then you often end up striking nothing and losing your combo. You also have to be aware of when to do moves, like you don't go for a gorund takedown when there is only one guy on the ground and 10 others standing around him. Everyone makes mistakes and blows it sometimes, but its not because the game is broken. Though I do wonder about the leaderboards, take Silent Knight Extreme one of the goals is to explode 3 walls and take out 3 goons all at the same time. How someone would manage to clear the entire room in basically the time it takes to just set that up since each wall is on an opposite end of the room and even traveling by the line launcher isn't that fast. Let alone also pulling off the break through goal as well.

They're fairly difficult but not that hard. It just takes practice to improve. When I first started, I sucked, but now I do great in each challenge. Just practice and try to have fun! :D

The predator challenges are definitely fun for me while 'beat-them-up' is not something I'm good at. I could obtain one, maybe 2 bat medals but I can't esquire those 30K - 50K points required on higher difficulty settings such as extreme. I just leave those alone.

It's not impossible to finish all the challenges but it's definitely not a walk in the park either.

Yeah. The campaign gives you the illusion that you are a beast at combos and combat, but the challenge maps are just that, a challenge. Don't blame the developers of the best Batman game and ever and one of the best games this year because it is more than you are ready for.

[QUOTE="aka_Static"]Unlike most games out today, this one requires you to get better to succeed (as opposed to mindlessly mashing buttons hours on end until that trophy icon pops up). The only thing that stopped myself from getting a perfect score during every challenge was MYSELF. There wasn't one instance where I thought, "Hmm that shouldn't have happened." I kept trying, got better and beat the challenges. MrGanny

Agreed, on this game you can't just ''smash'' buttons to win. I hate those guys with Pika-sticks. :(

thats what i do with this game on my 360 just mash away and counter attack batclaw and back at it again.

Unless you couldn't realize, the combat in this game is all about timing. It's your own fault you got screwed over because you don't time stuff right.

Challenge maps are easy and I have no problem getting high combos without taking a hit. The perfect knight trophy was so easy. :P

mmrsoxnation5

Exibit A: arrogant know it all claiming it was easy. theres always people like you on these forums. the ones that claim they've done it all. listen its not all about timing bc i time it fine. the problem is that i see a guy about to hit me but hes not that close to me so i jump half way across the room to another guy to hit him (nowhere near the original guy who was going to hit me) and the next thing i know, the guy that was going to hit me somehow glided across the whole distance of the room out of nowhere and hits me. but other times i expect them to glide across the room so i have the triangle button ready and they dont follow.

Call me arrogant if you want, but I made it through the challenge maps just fine.

Settle down and drink some juice or something.

you deserve an award for that quote.

No not in the least. If you read through this thread you'll notice TC is just complaining because he has horrible timing.

perfect knight was an easy trophy but i have not been able to get 3 bats on any of the combat challenges. i do, however, have every bat for the stealth challenges. also i had a combo of 38 on rumble in the jungle (extreme) which is the best ive gotten. soo close to 40. i have beat the game on hard as well and pretty much the only hard part is poison ivy and a mini boss goliath, by the elevators to the sewer, with 3 rounds of guys in a small confined space.

its all about timing and combos dude. You also have to point the analog sticks in certain directions where thugs are. The tricky part is remembering to use the finishing moves on downed guys to continue a combo when they are all on the ground stunned. If you use the grapple, batarang and counter effectively it isnt that hard. It takes time and good reflexes, NOT FLAWED AT ALL!!! [QUOTE="mmrsoxnation5"]

its true. ive been sitting here for 2 hours trying to get by this one challenge. theres always something new that it does to screw you. if you can beat the game on hardest with no issues, but this is giving you an issue then its a flawed system.
