I still have failed to see why this game is such a big to some people. I mean, there are like 3 other games like it all coming out within the next 6 months. One of them being God of War 3. Is it because it's a half naked hot librarian chick who fight with her hair? Ya, that must be it.

well this is wannabe when you put it next to GoW so the discussion won't be healthy

Nah, she's not half naked. She has a body suit. She only gets half naked if you pull off her larger combos.
I'm into her because she's different. When was the last time you saw a female with gun heels and glasses?
Now, when was the last time you saw a muscled male with anger issues? lol, All the time.
Female leads are few and far in between, but when you get one with a design that's this unique... you've got something special. You should give it a chance before you judge based on what you've seen. I've played both God of War games and I didn't like either of them. They were fun video games, but Kratos character was too stale. Same with Ninja Gaiden.. it's boring to me.
The "I'm a badass and I know it" thing is played out.
The "I'm delicious and I know it" is in.
The amount of times I've said "Holy Crap!" during this demo is too many to count. If only the menus and items were in English I'd import this in a second. I still might do it though because the controls are user friendly since they show you on the screen what buttons to press.

In case you didn't read my entire post, I haven't brought judgment upon Bayonetta yet. I was simply asking why it's been idolized so much in the presence of heavy weight style sharers such as GOW3, and Dante's Inferno.

Maybe it's because some people actually did some research, read some previews, and looked at the staff's track-record to decide that this game met many of their interests as opposed to those "heavy weights".
I mean, don't get me wrong - God of War is a great franchise. I enjoyed both of the games thoroughly. However, there was absolutely zero charm or appeal to it at all for me. It's not Bayonetta herself that's intriguing (although she does help). It's the faster-paced combat mixed with the music and theme. I mean, sure - they could give Kratos fast-assed combos, crazy gun-wielding action, slow-mo, and jazzy soundtracks, but that wouldn't be God of War now, would it? I have no problem with what God of War is doing because it does it so well. God of War should stay as God of War. However, I see Bayonetta as a completely different game with many different features and elements which appeal to more of my interests than any God of War game would.
tl;dr: Both are different games. Bayonetta's not "in the presence of heavy weight style sharers such as GOW3, and Dante's Inferno" because it's somewhere else.
EDIT: Damn, it looks like Scianix pretty much paraphrased my entire post minutes before I even posted this.

Whether you, or Scianx, wanna admit it, Bayonetta will undoubtedly be compared to GOW3 and Dante's Inferno. Not because I'm comparing them myself, but because they are alike, gameplay-wise that is. Maybe not pinpoint, just "alike." Therefore, my question is valid and acceptable. "Because it's different." C'mon, really? Your lucky hazel stepped in and elaborated upon you half-***ed answer Scianx. No offense BTW.

lol Cut me slack, I switched to the PS3 browser after that long post. But it's true it will be compared to GoW, even Kamiya himself stated that he wanted to challenge that franchise with Bayonetta, but I don't have half a mind to worry about it.It's the same genre as God of War and Ninja Gaiden, but it's got it's own sense of style. It practically oozes it. I wasn't ever worried about gameplay because regardless of what kind of game it was, I was going to buy it simply for Bayonetta's design.
I don't know about other people, but I idolize Bayonetta because the character design is one of the most interesting I've ever seen.

lol Bayonetta's character design is one of the main things keeping me away from the game. They can go ahead and compare them all they want then. Those people are the ones looking at games in an incredibly shallow manner. Either way, I hope I've cleared of your original query of "I still have failed to see why this game is such a big deal to some people". It's because it simply appeals to us in many ways - like Kingdom Hearts appeals to you. That's how things work, right? Some people actually like things. Crazy - I know. :Phazelnutman
Uhh, Kingdom Hearts was kind of a bad example to get your point across. KH stands by itself among the crowds for obvious reasons. Bayonetta....not so much.

Your talking out of your *** dude. Plain and simple.
The point of the media comparing the game to better-known titles such as God of War is simply due to the fact that making such comparisons and then building off of that more-familiar game is easier than describing it as "a game where you can go around using a large array of weapons and dodge enemies in real time while disposing of many of them through various combos and timed moves". Once they establish it as being a part of the same genre as God of War and such, they always elaborate upon it or base it on an already-familiar mechanic to give the average reader a quicker passage into what to vaguely expect when you think of Bayonetta. Anyone who is interested in the game can go from there and learn about he game to its actual extent. The media's not doing it out of trying to tell you what the game will be; the media is doing it out of the fact that they want to convenience the readers with something they can hang onto while learning more. Also, calm down, bro. You sound like you're trying to make enemies here or something. I mean, you can go ahead and try to argue/criticize points, but when you start telling people that they're talking out of their ass, you've effectively eliminated the sport of debate and turning it into a personal thing. I love debating, but I hate it when people start doing things like that - even when it's directed at other users.Well, considering the fact that almost every industry analyst and media outlet has been using and comparing GOW3, Bayonetta, and Dante's Inferno in the same sentence since they were all announced.....you know where I'm going with this. I have yet to say one bad thing about it. The only thing I've presented about it so far is it's similarities towards other games in it's particular genre. I haven't even played the demo yet, therefore I'm not in any place to pass judgment on it. And hazel, don't give me that ridiculous argument about the "nobleness" and "honor," or as you put it, "sport" of debating. I've been demonized since I walked into this thread. And only because I've been one of the few(maybe the only) people here who hasn't been fawning over Bayonetta. I throw one mean comment out and I get a lecture. C'mon hazel, look at this dude's last post. Don't tell me it wasn't completely sarcastic and unnecessary. Why didn't he get a lecture? Was it because I was more straight forward with my insult? Or was it because that I'm not on your side of the debate? Again, I'm not trying to be mean or anything, just think about it, kay?;)
