Going to pick up a Black Slim when one of these stores have them.

My best friend bought a PS2 at Gamestop, when he took it back when it broke, they gave him no grief and gave him a new one. When I called and asked if they had the Black slim, the guy told me they would give me a new PSP if I had an issues, every thing from accidents to firmware to hardware failure pixel issues would get me a new one.

My bro bought a laptop at bestbuy with the replacement warrenty. He has had touch pad and Wifi card issues. They told him they would have to ship it to have it fixed 3 times before he would get a gift card to get a replacement, unless it was totally broken. I picked up my PS3 at Best Buy back in May, the cashier told me to be sure to bring back my PS3 at the last day of the warrenty and tell them it is not workng correctly sometime and they would give me a giftcard.

Thoughts?

I dunno. Best Buy has always told me when I was about to do the warranty that I had to just bring it back and they would give me a new one or I could upgrade to the latest model with no hassles. They told me it was instant. What you are describing does not sound like instant to me. I would ask to read the warranty fine print. Personally I am not a fan of warranties, especially when they cost an arm and a leg like the PS3 warranty. Sony gives you a year and now MS gives you 1 year + a 3 year against Ring of Death. With that there is no reason to get a warranty, unless you want to upgrade in the future. I would do the GameStop warranty. Just my 2 cents...
