Best Playstation series so far

So which of these five only playstation (for the most part, or had ports released later on other consoles) series are your favorites?

Metal Gear for me. Forever;)

I voted for Final Fantasy HOWEVER the FF series started way before PlayStation was even invented. If it was PS exclusive series I would give it to MGS. But overall I vote FF.

Yeah I was slightly shocked to not see RE on there as well, but it's not my list.

I like Uncharted the best. But the Yakuza series comes close.

MGS but Uncharted is right there.

for me its a tie between GoW and uncharted. i'm going with uncharted just since its a new IP this gen.starwarsjunky

The Tomb Raider serieswas the PS exclusive that brought me back to gaming though.

i almost put in Ratchet and Clank too, i had it in there and deleted it lol. and yeah i knew that about final fantasy but i felt that it was most commonly associated with the Playstation. and sorry bout not putting any Resident Evil in there, i didnt even think of that one :P.

I definitely vote for MGS, best story, most twist and turns, and it gives us the true sense of attachement to each of the character through not only action but fantastic cut scenes

Final Fantasy really doesn't belong on that list...especially since it has games on every current gen system (Wii, DS, PS3, PSP, 360). Yes, it's primarily Sony, especially for the numeric series, but even XIII was multiplat. However, FF is my favourite RPG series, and favourite franchise in general, so I'll vote for it anyways. :P

metal gear may not have originally started on ps, but come on when you think of metal gear you think of Sony, you dont think of the game on NES where you went into Zanzabar land to fight big boss, plus the series really took off with MGS, MGS2, MGS 3, and MGS4, those were the key players and MGS is still only on ps, save for twin snakes on gamecube, and mgs2 was only sony until the crappy xbox port. so yeah i do count MGS as Sony.

And i though FF qualifies enough honestly, FF10, and FF7 are two of the most important games and always paired with ps when you think about them

i voted gran turismo

but for me it was the tekken series until 6 came out on 360

MGS hands down. Most of the people who voted Uncharted probably just started gaming this gen. Uncharted is good, but MGS is on a whole different level.

i have to give to to metal gear even tho its not a playstation exclusive....it has a deep engrosing story that u have to pay attention to in order to understand...also u can see how the tech has evolved and u can see all of the advancements in game play....it is amazing...certainly one of the best series available for any console

All of the above with the inclusion of Jak & Daxter, R&C, and Resistance...

MGS is the best Playstation series in my opinion because the series covers all of the Playstation platforms and repeatedly delivers in quality and you can tell love was put into the game.

I couldn't stand Snake Eater, but enjoyed the rest of them. And I've only played one R&C games so far (Tools of Destruction) but I really enjoyed it.

FF isn't a PS3 exclusive. R&C for me because you CAN'T hate the characters and universe. That's a rare thing. tigertechie

thank you CDuG, thats kinda what i was thinking, i just picked the game series that i felt best represented Sony and its Playstations throughout the ages is all. And if i could make the polls longer i would have put in more games. and yes Ratchet and Clank guy...seriously, its only ratchet and clank lol

There is a difference between supporting the series and driving everyone crazy about it.

If R&C was part of the poll and you voted for it, that's support. It wasn't part of the poll. Simple as that. There is absolutely nothing you can say to convince me or anyone that you working as a moderator for an R&C website says that in order for you to maintain your position you need to mention the series in every thread even if it has nothing to do with the subject. That's not support. That's basically trolling. Support implies additonal positive reinforcement in an already existing environment. Not name-dropping it every chance you get. And IF by chance the sole purpose of your job IS to show up everywhere and talk about R&C then they need to reevaluate that role because like I said, at this point I don't associate you with R&C, I associate R&C with you. You may take that as a compliment, but to me that means if I see one of their games on the shelf I'm not even going to pick it up and think about it. I'm going to remember how annoyed I was by the guy that never stoped talking about it and I'm going to ignore it altogether. You're literally driving me away from ever even renting this series. So you're doing the opposite of support.

I know you're going to get upset but just read everything I'm telling you again. I'm absolutely not trying to fight with you. I'm telling you the truth. You can love that series all you want but my honest advice to you is stop pushing it in everyone's faces.

I have to go with God of War series. Even though it is not the most complex story/gameplay. It is a lot of mindless escapism kill everything fun.

Sometimes that is all you need.....
