Better than expected.

What games has anyone got where you expected a decent game, but when you played it, it turned out to be amazing. For me it was Bioshock, I heard about it and it looked OK, so I got it, and then it was AMAZING and well worth the money.

Anyone had the same thing happen to them?

yeah i agree with you i thought Bioshock was better than expected...

For me personally, Folklore.

Very artistic, unique and enjoyable. One of the best use of Sixaxis motion I have yet seen in PS3 game.

Uncharted is the first game that comes to mind. I bought it cheap and didn't expect anything more than a Tomb Raider clone. But it ended up being one of the games I've enjoyed the most this generation. The game's just pure fun to play.

Also Assassins Creed. I played it on PC, which was released months later than the console versions, and all the bad buzz about the console versions had destroyed my hype for the game. And I found the game to be amazing, by far the most "next-gen" experience I've had.

Well, I downloaded the Uncharted demo and pretty much didn't see what all the hype was about. The aiming seemed unresponsive, the character movements as well...

Well, the game comes out and I still decided to purchase it. Dammmmnnnnn, the game was off the hook.

For me it would probably be Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.

I just couldn't get into the Ratchet games on the PS2, but I decided to go ahead and give Ratchet's debut on the PS3 a try. I'm sure glad I did because it is one of my favorite games on the system.
