Big Decision to Be Made

SONY PSP or Nintendo Wii for my birthday?

I really want the PSP because Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles is coming out for it in fall, but the Wii is a home console and I could probably enjoy it more. The only thing is my cuz owns the Wii and the motion controls get to be annoying for some games (Metal Slug...)

So what be it? PSP or Wii?

Im no fanboy but I was VERY dissapointed with the PSP. I cant tell you about the system now as I had sold it. The Wii on the other hand will have a good and long future with the amount the system has sold. Its a developers dream right now to create as many games as possible for it. Lets just say its the new PS2 while the PSP is falling in the shadows of the DS.

Actually Im dissapointed in the steps Sony's taking. Its as if they are tried to create a media monopoly with the portable UMD and  the now HD Blu-Ray and had forgotten all about their great gaming machines. I think they figured developers would chase after them because their Sony and havea great gaming track record. 

I own both systems, and I can honestly say that there is no reason to get a Wii right now. I'll probably appreciate my Wii more once stuff like Super Smash Bros or Metroid Prime 3 come out, but for now its just sitting there with a few VC games on it.

 The PSP on the other hand has a great library of games now and with the price drop, more greatest hit games for $20, and a promising line-up with titles like God of War and FF: Crisis Core, you can be sure that the PSP is the way to go at this time.

 Both will probably be very enjoyable in the long-run, but currently I'd get a PSP, then get the Wii during the holidays or something once more quality games appear.

Get a Wii. Ebay it/ Sell it and buy a PSP. Use the money leftover for games.JLei2k

Clever idea indeed, but Wiis are a little hard to find, hence the reason why he could get his money and MORE if he re-sells it, but if in the end al he wants is the PSP then he shouldn`t wait to get a Wii First and sell it, I`d go for the PSP, has a lot of things going on for it.

By the way, you made us compare a console with a Handheld, very different, but basically

 if you are out a good amount of time a day get the PSP

If not... well, get the PSP anyways, the Wii doesn`t have good games right now ( the only exception being Zelda)

Psp: great games like untold legends, monster hunter freedom, burnout, and even final fantasy, D&D, and oblivion are coming out. The psp is fantanstic for traveling because its portable. and the online play is simply awesome.

 Wii: freind has it, but to me it isnt that great... dont you just like to lie down and play your video games?some of the GOOD games on the wii dont allow that unless you BUY the controller. you'd have to move around? what if you were soooo tired and you were in the mood for a wii game :(
