It's actually turns your PS3 into Galvatron, not Megatron.... get it right.

its supposedly on the 8th or 9th and it doesn't turn the PS3 into megatron, but it does let it make toast now :)americahellyeah

ok for those who want to know here it is, Multi-task will be able to do stuff during download instead of waiting, play your music during games. Backround switch change you colour or put a pic of what u have, more feautres on music and videos, improving the gaming with sixaxsis and a few more stuff some not as big but few wait and find out

it was announced as the 8th and it was also stated that it would allow up-converting of ps1 and p2 games to 1080i / 720p -- I posted the link yesterday in two other threads
I heard it actually converst your PS3 into a George Foreman grill. :) That and it gives you a direct line to Phil Harrison's cell phone so you can ask him whatever questions you may have. :)
Actually sony is supposed to also be making some big announcement too. One site, don't remember which one, got an anonymous tip of what its going to be about. They can't verify the info so they are calling it as a rumor, but they got in big trouble with sony for posting it so its probably true. Anyways it has to do with the whole Playstation Online thing, rumor has it that there will soon be a feature to make your own person and have your own virtual room, kind of like the sims, and as you play games and get more points you can unlock more things for your room and person. Again this is just a rumor, but supposedly they are going to announce it this week. From what the article said, it sounds like it blows the 360's online achievement points out of the water. I wish I had the website so I could link the article so you guys could read it, but anyways, I hope it's true.

yea i heard about a change to the online profiles as well. but does anyone know if there going to make ps2 games online play work with bluetooth headsets?
I wish they would make PS2 games that could install to the hard drive compatible with the PS3's hard drive. I know there were never a great deal of games that did it and most were on Japanese games, but it would be nice.
i seem to have missed something here, i'm in the UK and awaiting my console which is due 23 March. What is this update in reference to? (apart from the PS3 itself of course). Is it going to effect the global community? :D

According to Sony, yes, it should be affecting Europe, Japan, and America simultaneously, or within a matter of days. Last I heard it was supposed to coincide with the Euro launch on the 23rd, though I may be mistaken.
I heard from my cousin's, father's, sister's, girl friend's, grandma, that tomorrow a KillZone demo will be available on PSN. Oh yeah, you hear it here first and don't you dare ask me for a link!
