Valkyria Chronicles. It certainly got good scores from just about everywhere, but no one really noticed it until recently. Better late then never, but you wish it would have sold more copies when it first released. A great game like that didn't deserve the poor sales it initially received.
Agreed that Valkyria Chronicles was underappreciated at first, but I don't think it was underrated. It got 8.5 or higher on just about every publication.
The real gem to me was PixelJunk Monsters. Just so freaking addictive...
One of the most underrated games this generation for me personally is Folklore.
I really had good time playing it. One of the best uses of Sixaxis and incredible artwork style.
Heavenly Sword, it hard great storytelling and the character's portrayed a great deal of emotion and personality.
Prinze
Heavenly Sword was amazing while it lasted. Should of got better scores simply because it was like playing a movie...a GREAT movie. Mirror's Edge was sadly underrated but I'm glad it did well in Europe and well enough to warrant a sequel. Mirror's Edge helps remind me while I play videogames sometimes and thats to get a experience that you can't get anywhere else.
The first title that comes to my mind is 'Alone in The Dark: Dark Inferno'. I had such a blast playing that game, despite the 'ordinary-to-bad' reviews.
Red Faction, it just got phased out because Prototype and Infamous were released at the time of Red Faction release. idk761
Yeah, that one too. Damn is that fun!

seriously yoko we know that you are such a hardcore fan of VC, that if you suddenly announce that you are no longer a fan, gamespot forums would crash, due to the amount of posters having their minds blown...
Folklore was very underrated aswell. I thought it was pretty beautiful. raven_squad
people saw that it was an rpg, there were like yes here is the return of rpg console. Then they found out that its not really an rpg. Still a great game, awesome atmosphere, and possibly the best use of the sixaxis that i have experienced.

The force unleashed easily. I loved the boss fights and it was just fun killing storm troopers

REALLY?
man i thought the demo sucked ass...
Story was good, gameplay was...beyond mind numbing. But hey, an opinions an opinion. :)[QUOTE="raven_squad"]Folklore was very underrated aswell. I thought it was pretty beautiful. adizorz

Yeah, the RPG elements are...severely lacking to say the least. But I find the music and art to be breathtaking at times.[QUOTE="adizorz"][QUOTE="yoda4ps3"]

I mean luke skywalker was meant to be a prodigiy of the force, and he had to make faces at a lightsaber to make it move, and then comes along this kid who can slam a star destroyers without as much effort. It seems kind of contradictory to me.

You have a point, but...eh, you have to use the suspension of disbelief. But that star destroyer segment was absolutely horrible. :|[QUOTE="raven_squad"][QUOTE="adizorz"]

Luke was never really seen as a Prodigy...he was seen as the last hope of destroying Darth Vader. Darth Vader was the true prodigy, just Luke gained acclaim due to him being the last possible Jedi to go up against Darth Vader after the empire was born since both Yoda and Obiwan Kenobi went into exile, Yoda due to his failure against teh emperor and Kenobi to watch over Luke. So yea...not a prodigy xD but the whole yanking star destroyers around was just retarded and a set peice to try selling the game...The Darkness
Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
all brilliant games which are under appreciated by so many

yeah that set piece also changed from epic win when they showed it first, that he actually destoryed it, to him attacking himself for no valid reason.
Edit: i just remebered that it was dathvader/anikin that threw the sithlord deep into the deathstar, so by both arguments anikin is the prodigy lol.

Actually Anakin really killed the emperor in the end so Anakin was the chosen on imo
