I liked the demo. Especially the story.rogerjak
I played it on the 360...I liked it but I must warn you, the deeper you get into this game it gets really starts to get twisted...and I do mean twisted. lol
I heard this game's story is really good.
The "You need to start playing this game without knowing what the hell is going on" good.
It's good. To bad that i'm not putting out 59€ on a port. When the other versions can be purchased for 19€ or less anlook the identical or better. This game brings to few extra stuff to justify the price.
One year old ports should be priced at 29.99€. I'm pretty sure i will see Bioshock (ps3) reach that price point within 1 or 2 months.
I agree with enygma...
The demo was meh, nothing spectacular...graphics meh, old looking..water the only thing that looked good. Its just not worth with the other games coming this holiday.
The atmosphere is intense from what I got of the demo. It's really really freaky I was so nervous playing through the demo and I don't know if I could go through a whole game. I haven't even met the Big Daddies yet :| but it's definately a great game and the controls for R2/L2 feel SO RIGHT just like GTA IV.G-Legend
The Big Daddies are by far the scariest element of the game. You will run your ass off the first time you have one chasing you.
cracka, please. Let me tell you guys how it really is:
I just finished the demo...more like I played for about 10 mins then shut it off. People hyped this game WAYYYYY too much. Just my opinion, but it is so stupid. The controls are slow, melee combat sucks, when I shoot a guy its just like BLOODSPLATTER! And his body dosn't even react. not even a flinch. plasmids are stupid as hell. Shock a guy with magic, then hit him with a wrench. The only good thing was the story/idea of it all. I have had poops that were more fun than this game. god...why so much hype for this...it might have been ok if everyone didn't say it was AMAZING. but I guess I was expecting too much. Plus the graphics were not that good...kind of shiny though.
bottom line: don't buy into the hype. It might be mediocre at best. I am all about resistance 2 and far cry 2 now! **** you, bioshock

i forbid itOmega3FattyAcidYou've made your point, or at least tried to form a valid point. So move along now. Kthxbye.
I thoroughly enjoyed the demo, I was definitely interested in playing this game before the demo and after the demo I am way more intrigued. The story is what has me wanting more, but the graphics are really immersive with the very artistic atmosphere, and the gameplay is quite solid and looks like it will be a lot of fun. But Im not sure of what replay value it contains. Which is why Im not sure if this game validates a purchase for me with all the other amazing games coming out, but I feel like I have to play this game through so Im gonna rent it without a doubt. Especially considering the end where you go into Andrew Ryans office is considered one of gamings best moments, I feel I must experience this.
I just remember back in the day when I heard about BioShock. Lol, I remember reading the story outline & that made me want this game so bad. I got pissed it was only coming to PC & 360. lol. Finally. I was waiting on this one.I even predicted GOTY long before it was due. These are the kindsa games I want to be playing. Unique in every sense.SonyMarksman70Im with you on all this 100%.

Yes, you definitely need to experience that, I hope you dont know what happens though.

I am thinking the same thing. After this game gets poor sales(which I know it will) the price will be $30 or less after Christmas, might even hit this price before Christmas. That's when I will pick this game up.

Thats the thing that got me about bioshock, after id completed it once i felt no need to go through it again although there is some replay value there if you want it. The thing is bioshock was such an amazing experience the first time around i felt i got everything out of it in one playthrough, i was quite happy just to leave it at that. But i strongly encourage any ps3 owner to look past any little issues like controls and give this title a full playthrough. The atmosphere, art direction and music are really stylized and something no game has done before quite in this way. Your've mssing out as a gamer if you dont play this title to completion.

People hyped this game waaay too much...you pointed out the good and bad i had with this game.
It was alright, nothing spectacular really.
I was bit distracted with bloom used majority of the time, It seems like devs. didn't want to polish it properly.
Other then that, it wasn't a bad demo.
demo was meh. i hate using the r2/l2 buttons as firing buttons. id prefere they be mapped to the r1/l1. x feels like it should be jump for some reason. all in all if i could remap the control to suit me better i would have liked it better. but i deffinatly dont see what the lemming were all bragging about. enygma500
This is an extremely shallow opinion. Just goes to show what some peoples opinions are worth if they can make a blanket statement like this without even playing more than 5% of the entire game.
You know it's 30 hours right? And you haven't even begun the story. Bioshock is the best game I've played this generation, period.

lol 30 hours. it was a great game but seriously, 30 hours? i would say half that and you would have a more realistic time for the average gamer. but i do agree with you about the shallow blanket statements. game was fantastic.it may be a few hours old. but the canadian store only just finished updating and i just started downloading the demo. im just wondering how it is. is it good and lengthy, and a good representartion of what to expect??cause when i played the uncharted demo i hated it. but i loved the gameenygma500
DL it now
someone should really make a rapture level in lbp btw.ozmatic77
I was thinking about making a Bioshock spoof level once I get the game. I didn't sign up for the Beta though, so I'll have to wait.
Ahh, Bioshock. One of my personal favorite games of last year. Hopefully you all that never played it will enjoy it. I really liked screwing around with different plasmid combinations. Sure it begins with simple things like lighting someone on fire, follow them to their pool of water where they put themselves out, and electrocute them as they lie there. However, this gets even better the more creative you are. Some of my favs:
- launch a guy into the air with a cyclone trap, and practice your skeet shooting with your shotgun; or freeze him mid-air, place a proximity mine underneath him, wait for him to thaw (or thaw him yourself with incinerate), and watch the poor SOB fall to his doom
- hyponotize a Big Daddy, lead it to another one, and start a Big Daddy brawl
- Enrage every enemy in the area, watch them group together to kill each other, and fire a swarm of bees at the entire group.
Oh, there's also nothing much like walking around with an entourage of a Big Daddy and two hacked flying sentry bots, and watch them lay waste to everything nearby.
i really liked it.. its differentKeasy4
Yea, call me weird but I like creepy games. The story stays creepy, and the atmosphere is just amazing.
It's refreshing when everybody is pushing for realistic graphics these days, and a few can stick to a certain style and still make it look great.

exactly what i loved about it. few worlds these days have impressive enough art direction to be anywhere near as immersive as rapture was. i was nervous going around every corner the entire gamePlease Log In to post.
