BioWare has said it currently has no plans to bring Mass Effect to PS3 in the wake of news hitting on EA snapping up the developer.
"Our focus is pure and simple; it's to deliver the best game possible for our fans with Mass Effect, and that's an Xbox 360 exclusive. Microsoft's a great partner... and they've really helped build the value of the product and we're proud to work with them", BioWare's Ray Muzyka has told GameDaily Biz.
It emerged in the early hours of this morning that EA has bought both BioWare and Pandemic Studios. The news left us gob-smacked.
Advertisement: Speaking further about Mass Effect, BioWare's Greg Zeschuk reaffirmed that it'll be a trilogy, reminding the world that the developer's been on the record in the past as saying it wants the three games to be on Xbox 360.
However, while the developer says there's currently no plan to pursue Mass Effect on PS3, Zeschuk added that BioWare "can't predict the future".
Talking generally about the buyout, Ray Muzyka said, "We're going to continue to drive the craft that you've come to expect from BioWare's games, and we're going to continue to innovate - each game better than the last."

I just hope they come out with an rpg like KOTOR or Mass Effect on PS3. I own a 360 and will get mass effect, but I also own a PS3 and would love if they made a rpg for that to.

look even if it was EXCLUSIVE on PS3 that doesn't mean it special or I must like it, the best example is FFXII it is exclusive on PS2 but I didn't like at all & by the way this my personal opinion it's not my problem if you didn't like it. :D

They said that basically the November20th release of mass effect as a 360 exclusive isn't changed by this deal and that the future games will still be on 360, tell me something I didn't know, but who is to say that EA won't farm it out to port it over to ps3 for sometime next year especially if the game is successful and it will be. I wouldn't be too surprised to see a goty edition of ME 1 appear on ps3 with extra content or content that would be available thru dlc on a blu-ray disk. There will be no way that EA lets this cash cow stay exclusive.
It's not up to BIOWARE anymore, that will be EAs decision from now, sorry but that's the case, all BIOWARE can say about this particular dilemma is "We dont "plan" to release it for PS3"

Why would they do that? On this forum all some people need to see is that it has a gun in it for it to be just another 360 shooter...so sad...
I looked into it, and I have a 360. I can honestly say that I am not interested in it or do I see it as anything special. Others might, but I most certainly do not.
Mass Effect is one of thethree games on 360 that I would want on ps3. The other two are Gears and Bioshock. I'd be happy if any of those came to ps3. With the possibility of Mass Effect on ps3, I'm a happy gamer.

Are you guys serious? That game is going to be great...potentially game of the year, aside from that over-rated FPS...it would be great if they did port it to the PS3...I just don't see it happening...unfortunely...

I did, i watched a bunch of movies and read dev interviews and crap and it really doesn't look that good to me. everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I was always under the impression that it was a 360 exclusive...Not my type of game, and as such, could care less, no matter how many trailers featuring english speaking aliens come out for it. :P

Honestly swear on my mothers life etc, i have never been interested in mass effect, if you like starwars and things like that then i expect youll want mass effect but i never heard anything about it that made me think : hey this game is cool. All i heard was there are different species...err i dont care..

It will come to PC, like most Xbox360 games. This really nullifies the need for a Xbox if you own a PS3 and a mid-range PC.
It doesnt say that Mass Effect wont be on the PS3, it says their arent any current plans. They said the same thing about Oblivion for the PS3. The truth of the matter is that Bioware wouldnt know because EA doesnt take control till like January of 08, so when they say "there arent any current plans" of course their arent because EA hasnt taken over. Remember EA is the same dev company that is ensuring that the PS3 gets the Orange Box.

Well put, but you forgot the line through the S indicating that they have a bunch of money, like $ that. Every time a person forgets that, Bill Gates throws a hissy fit and bribes another company to only make good 360 games, or only 360 games period. Duh, everyone knows that.
Well its a good move by Microsoft. They know if they dont have a challenge for the Gods of War's and MGS's and Final Fantasy, and Gran Turismos, and MLBs, latter?? besides one game "Hal0" If not, they will die by 2010. They need more, and this is at the vary least, something. Its still not enough to beat 2010 Sony "that is the key time area to win this Gen. And as of now Sony has the better games for that time." But will see if they can buy some more talent latter..
