I am new here and just got black ops a few days ago..when i get online to play i can do the combat training and play it fine..When i try to join a match other than combat training it sits there and will say i have X amount of games it is trying to join and that number drops from where it started at and then starts over again..after cycling through that a couple of times, it will just have me and says its waiting on 7 other people and nothing ever happens..can someone please tell me what i am suppose 2 do i really want to play online but cant seem 2 be having any luck..it wont let me play zombies either..i have tried setting up a static ip address for the ps3 and have no luck and have also just tried the easy internet connection setup in which i still have no luck..
Is it your internet speed? I remember this happening to me in MW2 (and a couple of other games) and then our internet got upgraded to a quicker one and I could get into MW2 matches easily... and also no issues in Black Ops now.
my connection speed is bout 3.5 megs...still just able to play combat training..nothing else..odd thing is i can put army of two in and play online within seconds but black ops just wont do it..tried taking the game back and exchanging it with another one thinking may have had aprob with the disc but still not working..

I was just playing it an hour ago and it was fine. It's proably your connection. I suggest restarting your router and If that doesn't work wire your connection thats makes your connection significantly better. Or It could just be the servers at the moment you might just need to wait a hour or two.
well i tried resetting the router..no luck..also tried putting a wire in to make a wired network and that didnt work..still the same old trying to join 5 matches but never does it..something else i was wondering about is the top right of the screen when you are logged in on black ops says 55.11.11.7...what is that number?is it the black ops server its trying to connect to?i would really like to get this figured out i hate having black ops and the only online gameplay i can do is combat training with the computer as people to play with
