Maybe the different actions that you do in the game won't actually have much of effect on the actual story line and it'll seem more dynamic if you only play it once. Regardless, games should be made so that you can play them more than once. Otherwise I would rather them charge hourly and just rush through it.
After finishing a game, I usually wait a few months or sometimes years to play it again. By the time I do end up playing it again I would have forgotten most of what happened before (I have a very bad memory :P) so I don't think it will "kill the game". I understand what David Cage means by this, and I really admire his view on gaming, but I think sometimes he just takes his work too seriously.
I think he means the first time you play it, it will be amazing but you may not feel the same the second time, but then again there's so much CHOICE in the game I don't see how playing it multiple times can "kill the magic" when you have so many different options if anything it'd help the replay value and you'd have a different "magic" each time.

Unless the choices actually don't have a huge impact on the story. Look at inFamous, you can choose to be good or evil, but the story plays out almost exactly the same either way. I was a bit disappointed in it, but I had fun regardless.
i think he means that the first time ur disicions will be wat u want to ac tually do in that situation making u connect more, but on multiple play throughs u are just choosing to see wat it does.... also will this mean that all the trophies can be acquired in one playthrough?? :P lolI think he means the first time you play it, it will be amazing but you may not feel the same the second time, but then again there's so much CHOICE in the game I don't see how playing it multiple times can "kill the magic" when you have so many different options if anything it'd help the replay value and you'd have a different "magic" each time.

Oh boy. This game is going to be a huge bust. Everyone is gonna be let down because they hyped this game to death.
It will kill the magic of the game because you will be fully aware of the implications of your actions, and how to avoid certain outcomes. There will be a large element of surprise lost when you make an opposite decision from your first game just to change your outcome the second time. Makes complete sense. He should also realize though that the game's massive amount of possible outcomes and branching paths make it ideal for the player to have a different experience almost every time they play it... raven_squadsaying it the way he did is a very terrible way to explain that, especially wz a very uniqe game like that.
I'd agree with that, from many interviews I've watched of his, he has alot of trouble adequately expressing his thoughts in English.Well from his videos english isn't his first language so i'm just asusming he worded this wrong.

I'm hoping that he means that he doesn't want people to have a character die, not be pleased with it, and then reload the game until the characters lives. I can see what he's saying from that standpoint, but playing it multiple times should be an option. If I can get an enjoyable 3 play throughs out of it, I wont be disappointed. I usually don't play games more than that anyway
wouldn't that really defeat the whole purpose of it being "dynamic?"Maybe the different actions that you do in the game won't actually have much of effect on the actual story line and it'll seem more dynamic if you only play it once. He actually says right in that article that he's "fine with" people reloading saves to avoid bad endings. He just doesn't want them to replay the whole game, apparently. :?I'm hoping that he means that he doesn't want people to have a character die, not be pleased with it, and then reload the game until the characters lives. ......and thats why this type of game is not for you. Stick to MW2, i think you'll find what you're looking for there.
