I really am probably no help what so ever...but did you try google?
(im sure you did)
Worth a shot thought.

they only sell it via there website...
actually yes it does...if my monitor does not have hdcp i wont be able to have any image at all.. even if its gaming...that sux thoughSolidSnakeJT
Try then tell.. HDMI is a format, if HDCP is required for HDMI signal to get through then a lot of people would have problem simply hooking up the old HDTVs that only support DVI connection.
The biggest reason why some monitor will play black is because PS3 requires 1280x720 or 1920x 1080 support directly on the monitor. If the monitor is HDCP capable, they will have at least one of these 2 resolutions, if not, then you get black screen. HDCP does not lock out HDMI signal unless the content ask for it, which at this point only applies to movies playing at 1080p rez.
well i know my monitor does not have hdcp...so it wont have 720 or 1080 directly...so thats why it wont work then ?
damn sony why didnt they make dvi cables like microsoft...would be so much easier for everybody...or at least there could have been 3rd party dvi cables for ps3...
