Can I "make" PS3 to remember controllers?

When a friend of mine brings his controller I always have to connect it via USB for a sec to "introduce" it to my PS3. I can then unplug it and it works fine. But when m yfriend takes his controller home and tries to play on his PS3, it doesn"t recognize it and he has to connect it via USB port again. And we have to do this every time we wanna play together which is quite annoying.

Is there any other way how our PS3s can remember that controller together?

That connecting is quick but it takes a lot of time to find that cable sometimes:)

my ps3 has been doing this for a while it hasnt remembered any of my controllers i have to connect to the usb , i guess it seams to be that the newest firm ware update did somthing
