I was wondering, If i go on Internet, will my PS3 get viruses, and I m not talking about sites for adults, i think u know wut i mean, i m talking about youtube, and google and all that will i get viruses, thnx allot!!
I suppose some people who can hack extremely well could create a virus quite easily, but i'm sure they are doing something that is at their skill level than attacking something that pointless.
I wouldn't tempt fate and start going to all kinds of "weirdo" sites, but I highly doubt it can get a virus. At most it will probably just freeze your PS3 or your web browser. A big reason I believe you can't get a virus is because the OS is built into the firmware it's not on the HD and you can't just write your own stuff onto it. Someone who is smarter than me though might know more.
There is Virus protection for the PS3's browser. You just need to enable it.
Not many people know about it. Press triangle in the browser and somewhere in the menu you will find... MicroTrend Security. Enable it and your good to go!
The OS that is on the PS3 is almost impossible to create a virus for unlike the one that MS uses that is wide open for viruses because there is no real security for the consumer, the only security is to keep M$ the only way many products will only work on there OS and that's it.
