can psp games bought through PSN and downloaded to the Ps3 be played.....

......straight away on the Ps3 itself? i just wanna know first before i make any purchases of psp games through PSN on my Ps3.

Good question I wondered the same thing. I wanted to get Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaftown but it's for PSP but I'd like to play it on my PS3.

No. Unfortunately not. PSP games can only be played on PSP (and from my understanding PSVita). Really sucks because I've wanted Metal Slug Anthology for years now on the PS3 but it's only available on the PSP and Wii. Meh.

I know what you mean. I was actually pretty excited when Sony announced the "PSP Classics" program with God of War Origins and Konami announced Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD but after that the program disappeared. :(

Hopefully publishers will green-light a few more PSP games for HD Collections. I'd love to play Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core on my PS3.

Only if it's a PS1 port, then it can be played on PSP as well as on PS3
