can the sixaxis be charged with anything the fits it

i have a mototrola h500 headset and the motorola charger fits right in the sixaxis controlers charge spot so am wondring what would happen if i try to charge it using the charger and can it be done

i wouldnt recommend it, but hey give it a shot, i dunno why you'd have to theres like four usb ports on the ps3

 i know theres four usb slots am just one of those cerius guys im not going to try  it till i know for sure i dont wanna try it and ruin the controller unless it can get charged then ill try it

u can charge it with your computer or laptop, but not with the cell phone charger.

i know i HAVE a ps3 for more then a month now my online name is KOTKOT like i said im just cerius and wanna know i charge My controller using my ps3 and sometims the  computer but im the kind of man that has to know       dont think i dont have a ps3 i do with a  65 inch hdtV 480i/p 720i/p and1080 i love my ps3 resistance ,motorstorm,fullauto2,and blazing angels keep me busy both on line and ofline     does someone have a answer for me if you ever saw me on resistance tell me

Just dont even try it ...

  I mean their is the chance it might damage your controller and they arnt cheap !
   Just keep charging it via PS3 -- or PC ... very easy and you know that atleast it'll work fine !

i use that, lol...i have 2 controllers, one charges with old wire, new one with the motorla charger xD!

im not really going to take a chance to mess up anything its too early just one month and i already might ruin something so im just not gonna try anything even though i got a $100 but thats for tow games that i looking to buy i have a card with fye to take 10%off from each item that $12 off the 2 games togather

Yes any USB 2.0 cable can charge the PS3 control, trust me I use the PS3 USB cable for everything from charging my Black Berry to powering my portable hard drive. The PS3 USB charging cable is nothing special, it's just a regular USB cable it can transfer data and it can carry power at 5v dc from any USB 2.0 port. There is nothing special about the PS3 USB cable hence any other USB cable will be suffice.

The voltage should remain the same, so it s shouldn't matter, but just so your in the safe side do some research before attempting it.

USB cable cannot carry anymore than 5v dc it's a universal standard, the sixaxis runs off I believe 3.5 v internal battery hence it will draw what it needs from the USB cable. If you break your control I'll buy you a new one.

i have two remotes I charge one using the standard cable that came in the box and I charge the other with the usb that came with my digital camera and when I get a 3rd remote its going to use the usb cable I received with my harmony remote.

Yeah thats what I do........cuz I don't wanna keep my PS3 on all the time so I charge it with my laptop.

Could you theoretically charge a sixaxis with the newer iPod AC adapters?  You can just plug a USB cable into them...
