Can we listen to our own music choices while playing?

Personally, I do not care at all about this. Like on my list of desired updates that is at the very VERY bottom. So far on the bottom that it fell off the list completely. I would rather listen to the music that the devs thought fit the game. Music is a big part of the game to me. The original Super Mario Bros. wouldn't be Mario if it had Metallica playing in the background.

That's just how I feel though. I dunno who else shares my opinion...

I actually agree a lot with Ospov. The music often tries to capture the mood of the game. Even in games where there is no music is done so as a purpose. I guess it would be an ok option, but its far from the top of my list of updates I would like to see. Very far.

thx guys for the feedback. yeah maybe it is just me being selfish....

but suppose they provide the in-game music that you guys dont like.( it had to be really crappy )

maybe that "option" would prove to be usefull....

playing GoW with some random J-POP would be epic and disturbing i actually want to do that but then again, sometimes if you have some random music, it's hard to catch some key sound effects and stuff and really hinders the gameplay. that's why they are only widely used in racing games i think

Playing KZ2 online with classical music (Pan's Labyrinth soundtrack)is a blast! (tried with Melt Banana'sJapanese hardcore, but it's too disturbing...)

I wish we could hear music from our iPod or mobile or such when plugged into the ps3 and playing the game.

I personally want this option, but only for sports games. Fifa and Fight Night could really use it, as the commentary is VERY repetative and annoying, and turning it off means just listening to the crown and a few kicks/punches, and it becomes boring, so they should implement it in some games!

Gah you casual gamer! Here's something to think about! How about opening your narrow-minded musical tastes and actually enjoying the game's original composition! *Pulls short hair*

I have a few issues with custom soundtracks:

1.It's not implemented the way it should be. What I mean is, instead of random tracks playing throughout the game, you should be able to specify when certain tracks are played during a game. Some games have done this, like Dracula X Chronicles on PSP.

2. Normally, only game music works with this kind of feature. If I were to change a game's soundtrack, I would replace it with music from other games.

It depends. Like on Fallout 3... I'd love to listen to my own. But on MGS4, I'd hate it. So it wouldn't be a bad feature, just not very much used.

I personally use the crap out of this features on 360. Plenty of uses, like NHL09 you can use your own music as entrance music for your team. A lot of games that have tracklists that get old after a while, like Midnight club. Fighting games, Sports games, Arcade games, Racing games. There's tons of use for this feature.

Super Mario Bros must have been the worst analogy for it you could come up with. And Metallica? That's your fault for not matching the mood. Find mellow songs for a slow game.
