If you have a HDTV below 42inch you dont need 1080p, you ant going to see any differents in the picture. 720P is good upto 42inches, the higher you go the more the picture starts looking more pixy and thats when your going to need 1080p...
Edit:
I waiting a my new HDTV to be delivered today :D
20" isto small to see any differencebetween 720p and 1080i never mind 1080pfor 1080p you need a tv at least 50" before you see any difference and for 1080i at least 37-40".hellscovernRight on. I feel that alot of people are being fooled ino buying a 1080p when really 720p is going to get the job done for what we are using it for. Even at 50in, the differences we are going to see are miniscule.
1080i and 1080p look the same 42inch-70 inchesWindblade91
Uh.....NO THEY DON'T.
Maybe for a game like Crash Bandicoot they do, but not if you play something like Resistance or Warhawk.
Stick to progressive if you can. Even if it means a "lower" resolution. I'd take 720p over 1080i anyday.
And to respond to the TC question, NO DIFFERENCE 720p/1080i at 25" or less. Stick with 720p.
Yes, but only if your sat like 2 feet away, your not really going to tell a difference between 720p/1080p on a screen smaller than 32inch from more than a couple of feet away.
If you want 1080p either buy a screen 40inch+ and sit around 6 feet away, or buy a monitor around 24-30 inches and sit 2-3feet away.
