Can you use a debit card on the PSN?

Would I be able to use my debit card to pay for purchases on the PSN, and just enter it as a credit card?

Also, can a sub account have their own transaction method?

As long as it has a visa or Mastercard symbol on it, things should work. I use mine all the time.
