charging the controler

How come the controller doesnt charge when the system is turned off??  Is there anyway around that?

but there is still power going through it otherwise the red light wouldnt be on

Get the drivers that allow you to use the ps3 as a controller for your pc... That way itll charge the controller with the ps3 off and you can even play games on your computer using the controller as well... a controller!! lol
