According to the article, a new 360 is coming at the low price of 279.99. I don't see any information about it's specifications at all. What it will lose or gain. What are your thoughts on this?

It's awesome. I'll get the "other console" now with the packins and then next year (or the spring after) get a PS3 after KZ 2, MGS 4, and FF 13 looming on the horizon. This is definately one of the best gens yet in terms of quality and competition.

The 360 is aiming at Wii buyers, and seems like a well targeted package. I bet it does well. I don't see the market for a $400 bare bones console (the PS3), especially if what I heard is true - the 40GB PS3 does NOT have backwards compatibility for PS2/1 games.
