Home is NOT a game. It's a SERVICE to CONNECT with the PLAYSTATION COMMUNITY.

Lately people have been experiencing the HOME Beta. I just want to tell everyone something that...ITS NOT A GAME. It's not suppose to be some wild world, where you explore dungeons and fight epic bosses. It's a centralized network that connects all PSN users in one spot. Without it PSN is some what disconnected, and not together. This update will unify the network.

So, everyone saying HOME is lame remember, its not a game. It wasn't designed for that purpose. It's been uniquely constructed to centralize PSN.

That's all I gotta' say. :)

Also, thanks Scianix-Black :)

You create a character/avatar to reflect yourself and your personal attributes and qualities. The purpose of HOME is to socialize with the Playstation Network. Its in no means a game.

someone should sticky this thread, the pointless opinions of people about how home is boring is getting VERY annoying.

I could also say saying "IT'S NOT A GAME" repetitively is just as annoying:)

I would say it IS a game - at least in the same sense that The Sims is a game. It doesn't have a centralized objective other than social netowrking - but is an axtremely cool application if you ask me. Plus it's free - so I don't understand where anyone has anything to complain about.

the problem with home, is that people who don't understand it are the ones who somehow get into the beta.

Unlike the Sims and Fable 2, you create your unique character for your own personal preferences on what you want your person to look like. Though, its a story-driven game, and nonetheless has a plot behind it and challenges to overcome. Instead, HOME is a social network which will unify the PSN. You can go to each others apartments, game rooms and enter a game together, visit each others Hall of fame, etc. There's no plot behind HOME, there's nothing. Also like DataDream said, its free aswell. Don't like it? Don't get it. As simple as that. Remember though, HOME is basically a 3D chatroom. Don't get your hopes up to be something phenomenal. All I'm hoping is that, this will finally create a central point for PSN users.

your right but it doesn't really connect all players either its bunch of home instance with only a set number of player that can interact with one another. they should just work more on in game xmb to connect people home is once removed. i think its neither its not a game and it doesn't really connect people. if anything home seems like adware, a way for developers to advertise and promote there games.

It's not. You can die in Sims. Home doesn't have a singular objective other than to connect the players.

It's basically the messaging system that the PSN already has, but with a few more perks in the way of bowling, watching videos, etc.

And thanks TC.

Good points. So it's not exactly like the Sims. Whatever - I like it and think it's a very innovative idea. In some ways it's like a game and in others it's not. The point isn't for it to be a game though. I think that people who don't at least check it out are missing out - but I have seen allot of people who don't like it either. Just not sue why. It does everything it's supposed to do EXTREMELY well. Not sure what people were expecting from it.

People were expecting it to be some sort of massive game, and they could indulge themselves for hours. They ruined it for themselves. Home is nothing more than a place where you can talk with your friends in a 3D world, and meet new people and become friends so you guys can play on the Playstation Network. I know I'm going to enjoy Home for what it is, and I'm not expecting anything other than that.

Nothing they add will change my mind .. it's a 3D chatroom ..

I use my PS3 for gaming .. and movies .. not to chat to people ..

That's why I own a phone .. and own a vehicle so I can go to a friends house if I really want to hang out ..
