cleaning ps3 slim

Hey guys... I recently got a 250 gb ps3.. I was wondering what was the safest and most effective way of cleaning the dust off the ps3 outside as well as inside in the vents. Also, how often should i clean the ps3. Once a month? once a week?

Don't use compressed air, if dust blows in certain spots it will screw up your ps3.

Inside- Low powered vacuum.

Outside- Soft cloth, like a shirt or something.

my 60 gig died because of dust. when i get my slim next month im cleaning that bad boy every day. the guy who tried to fix it said the dust inside melted to the mother board. and fried the cpu. i even read stories of sony sending broken ps3s back to people because they had to much dust in them...... so yeah keep that baby clean;)

Outside - I like to dust mine weekly. You can use either a micro-fiber cloth (won't leave scratches), or the Swiffer duster for my entertainment center.

Inside - Either a DataVac electronics vacuum (doesn't have static build-up issues), or compressed air (only in short bursts). All electronics should be kept clean and dust free, or dust will shorten it's life.

For everyday dusting of a PS3, I use a microfibre cloth. Once in a while, I use a soft colth with some furniture polish on it. The black plastic case of the PS3 not only gets dusted, but it gets sligthly shinier; nicer.

I don't clean my PS3 unless it gets really dusty cos its a Phat one and they tend to scratch to hell and back no matter how carefull you dust them!
