CoD 4 vs Killzone 2(visuals)

After seeing the reviews of CoD on IGN and Gametrailers I seriously doubt Killzone 2 can compete.(I could not spot any comments in the reviewsregarding which console version is the best so I guess they are similar)

The scores are unusually high and there has to be a lot more to the game than pretty looks. I am worried that Killzone 2 can´t compete with this one.

If we just look at the visuals(the videos released of Killzone from E3 etc)and compare them. Is Killzone as sharp and crisp as CoD4? I do not think so from what I have seen. It seems to me that Killzone is going for a more colorless, blurry look. Perhaps this is more a stylistic thing than a graphical thing, but I prefer the sharp look better.

Well; this will be exciting no matter what. Just remember; this means just more good games coming to us consumers. I am happy that both the Xbox 360 and PS3 version is similar. Good work develpers.

on the other side Cod4 has much better MP than KZ2.

Graphicaly i think Killzone 2 is on a higher level.

i think it CAN compete. better lighting, betetr character animation, better sound and even MORE chaos.

i think the immersion in Killzone 2 will be bigger. i also like the great cover system.

i doubt Killzone2 will have 60fps though...

But still. It got 9.4 from IGN. That kind of grade does not come often. Which shooters have got such a high score? I can think of the Halo series and Half Life series. OleAndreasBull

Call of Duty 4 looks very good no doubt. That being said, Killzone looks shockingly good. Killzone is (in my opinion) the Crysis of consoles. As much as Crysis is unrivaled on the PC, so is Killzone on the PS3. Before I continue, I'm not comparing Crysis to Killzone or saying Killzone looks better, in fact I don't compare PC to consoles, I'm merely making a point that nothing on any console even scratches the surface of what Killzone is achieving.

Killzone's worlds are so unbelievably large and detailed. Every where you look there is something amazing to see. No matter how high up in the sky or how far off your path, the game looks astounding. The lighting and particle effects are incredible, as is the animation, the semi-destructible environments, the weather effects (my god the lightning) and even at this very early stage of development, the game runs extremely smooth....I could go on and on but I think the latest videos speak for themselves.

Killzone puts the whoopin' on every other game on any console in terms of graphics by a more then decisive margin. It's absolutely incredible what the developers of this game have been able to achieve on the PS3. The atmosphere that the graphics create makes for a hell of a battle zone. I can tell this much just by watching the videos in HD. The intensity of this game will be off the charts and I for one am anticipating Killzone 2 more then any other shooter that I know to be in existence.

I'm actually not worried about the gameplay because I believe that Sony is giving the developers the time needed to make a great game. Not to mention that I thought the first Killzone was a pretty decent game to build off of. No, it wasn't excellent, but it was a decent foundation to build from. The developers seem to know what they are doing this time around and I have total confidence that the gameplay will be good and satisfying.

Sony knows this game will sell systems in bunches just because the way it looks and I have no doubt that the game will come together extremely well.

I have the game on 360 and at times it looks grand but other times not as good as I thought. I'm sure Killzone 2 will look better and will probably have a longer single player.Anoch20

does the game look better on PS3? I also have a PS3 and CoD4 would have been a good addition to it, but once I found out they both support 1080p I just got the 360 verison for Live.

On a side note in reviews i've read it seems some textures in CoD4 look pretty bad close up, same goes for some back drops, also some aliasing pointed out; KZ2 is said to have super AA...
