COD4 noob question

So I'm a noob and not much of a gamer, OK...

Anyway, at the end of the first scenario, "Expendable" when you're staggering (I'm assuming I'm supposed to be looking all diagonal and sideways due to the shock of the explosions...) around trying to catch the helicopter to get off the ship, I can't seem to jump onto the chopper. What do you need to be doing with the controller to make that jump?

the game doent come with much instructions... not even a loading screen controller...

the button is (x) u should be running tho
