Well, since the new Call Of Duty: World at War was released, they needed more servers for the new game. Since there are very few COD4 gamers, they only decided to leave 5% of the servers before they take them all out January the first, 2009. Sorry guys.
Every time I tried to play I got that and sometimes after a few minutes it would work and sometimes it would take 20 mintues if ever. I got fed up with it and traded it in for the 360 version (which I originally had though my disc cracked and I replaced it with the PS3 version).

that happens 2 me like once every few weeks. "downloading game setting" is just stuck up on the screen and if i try 2 make a private match the game freezes. I usually have 2 turn it off and try again l8r but it really makes me mad thinking about the time not spent with my ps3:cry:

Can you say a**? I don't think so, I got busted for "trolling" because I told someone that instead of reading the manuals, I came to gamespot for some smart a** answers. I just joking around, but the mods thought differently. Hope this post won't get me in trouble again.
As far as the servers... I think they would keep COD4 going for a while because sooooooooooooooooooooooooo many people are still playing it. COD5 will probably get it's own servers. I'm ready for COD6 which is supposed to be made by the same geniuses that made COD4. It's not going to be WWII either... hooray!

I had the same problem earlier.Hopefully soon I will be leaving COD4 behind[Hopefully more maps will come out or something for the game]I have been Waiting for COD5 for a quite awhile.
