Hi guys, this is my first time posting on GameSpot, Took me a while to find this thing, but...I'm here. Now, My problem: When I go to play Call of Duty 4, Martyrdom Whorefare (Lol I love that title.) I can get on Multiplayer, And usually everything works fine, But...I noticed that The map called Crossfire doesn't load....at all. It used to be bad enough, so It would say ...Awaiting Connection...0... On a black background with white text, And I couldn't get past that, and If I selected "Quit Game" from the XMB screen, It would freeze everything, and reset my PS3. I cleaned the disc hoping it would work, But, there's not really anything wrong with the disc, Just some itty bitty scratches here and there, which probably shouldn't affect anything... But, I got it so It can get to the loading screen, But it won't get past that. I can see the name of the map, And the background picture with the bus and the buildings, But it won't load...At all whatsoever. Kudos to anyone who can solve my problem. :P

The only thing that comes to mind is a corrupted data file. Maybe it would work if you erased the current data file and re-installed the gamet. But does this erase all your save games? I don't know. But it is interesting that this happens only on "crossfire"

Yeah It would erase all of my save games, And I would lose all of my earned weapons, and my perks on Multiplayer. Yeah it is weird that it's only on Crossfire. But everyone says that's a real good map and lots of people like to play on it, so I'm missing out. :\

I don't think that's right. Aren't the stats like weapons unlocked and perks stored at iw servers? I mean when I play on my account at my cousin's house the names of my classes are gone but my classes are still there. Also the weapons and perks I unlocked are still there too.

They're stored both in your Online account, and in your Game Data file. If you delete the game data file, your save games, Weapons and perks will all be deleted. The IW servers don't store any of your stuff, Only your console. So If you deleted the file, You restart the game from scratch.

Oh, Also, The reason you get to keep your weapons and perks and use them at your Cousin's place, Is because they are also stored in your account, So you can have the same stuff on different PS3's.

But the game saves are stored separate from the game data. And if you were right about the stats and perks being on your console then I wouldn't be able to play with my gold guns on my cousin's ps3. Which I have done several times. Obviously your online stats, perks, and weapons must be stored on their servers. Otherwise if you logged in on another console you'd be a level one noob which you aren't.

Read my post which was above your last one, It tells why You get to keep your Stats, Perks, and weapons, and use them on other consoles.

But if it's tied to your account then it still doesn't mean its in the game data since the game data on my ps3 wouldn't be the same as my cousins. Either way it's tied to something online not offline.

Hmm, I dunno then. I'm getting confused, lol. Still, I'm pretty sure most of your stuff is stored in the Game Data file. But, I could be wrong.

Ok all, I figured it out. :D One of the tiny scratches on the disk was actually very deep, and it eventually DID effect the map, SO, Since I bought the game used form E.B. Games, I saw on the receipt that it said "All USED opened merchandise may be exchanged for the Identical Item within 30 days of Purchase." I took it back to EBG, And got a new disc.. Plays flawlessly now! Thanks all.

I have the very same problem with my cod4: the crossfire map dont load. Must to be that same scratch in the very same location (the disc is new), or a big bug. I'll try to erease the game data and reset the game. Any other idea?
