Well maybe the PS3 isn't doing as hot as expected but HOPEFULLY that will change soon. There's PlayStation Home coming in the Fall, and there's some great games coming out this year. So what if they go multi-platform? At least we still have the game. The PS3 dosen't have a high failure rate meaning it's reliable. Also, there's Oblivion that can keep you busy for a LONG time in which it did for me until my friend overwrited my file. Also, you can rip music to your PS3 and it's FAST. So it's like a DVD player, Blu-ray Player, PS2, PS1, music system, online internet browser, etc...ALL IN ONE! :D But it's up to you if you want to buy it or not.

I don't recommend buying a PS3 till at least late 2008. It's not going to have much of anything worth playing in the next year and it's way too expensive right now. If the PS3 looks good in late 2008 compared with the competition, it'll be a safe buy. Right now it could still be a $600 Dreamcast.

The Dreamcast sold about 500,000 more consoles at this point in its life. http://www.vgcharts.org/aconscomps.php?name1=DC&name2=PS3&type=0&align=0

how
is that posible when the ps 3 broke records in uk 600,000 units. you also don't notice the 2.5 million total around the world.

lmao....  anyway..ps3 will do just fine in the long run. ill admit sony has its problems right now, but things are sure to change. for the next foreseable future each week has a nice ps3 games comming out giving you something to play. free online play, its sweet blueray player, if your high def which is well on track in winning the next gen dvd war, so that lone would be worth the value. not to mention with the new elite 360 it more so jsutifies its value, not to say the 360 isnt, but for the cash, stacked up one to one sony is a much greater value and investment. but no one can make your mind up for you, but you...and frankly no one cares..so do what u want, your choice. eat frito lay son.

Sony's launch is slow and developer support is sluggish but Sony won't have a dreamcast this generation. It would take an incredible blunder to waste the initiative gained by the PS2. I'm not saying Sony will win but they are certainly goind to do well and as such I would recommend buying a PS3 whenever you can see enough great games for it that you can justify the purchase. For me that's probably going to be early 2008.

Hey everybody!  I am a devote sony fan, but that might change.  Besides Sony loosing exclusives [doesnt bother me much though] and being trash talked, Iso  decided to come here in hopes of some words of wisdom and kindness.  What will the PS3 have that will make me want to buy it for the price tag of $600.  If you can, I would appreciate technology specs, games [and game line-ups, website links would be grand], online capabilities, etc.  Anything that makes PS3 worth buying will be all the more encouraging.  Thanks,

When you see that your opponenets are releasing a third console , that tries to add everything your console has. late into their lifespan you know that your console has all the right things and more. What made me buy a ps3? Blu-ray (the winning format), the game franchises Sony owns, MGS and FF series and that history Sony has had within the gaming world.

God, yet another one of these posts. Do what you want. I could care less if you buy a PS3 or not. And to ask for specs or game lineups on a forum when you could easily get that info yourself shows you're just trying to start a system war type fight.

Then again, look at the huge drop-off that happened to the DC in January, while the PS3 is doing fine comparatively. Also, the DC was released in September, so the 4th month was December (holidays) and for the PS3, the 4th month was a February.

For those who answered nicely, I appreciate it.  For those who put rude comments, grow up.  I am not going to look at over 6000 topics to see that if my question is spamming the PS3 forums.

The PS3 will have nothing worth playing????

Than these games are garbage right? :

  1. Killzone 2
  2. MGS4
  3. Tekken 6
  4. FF XIII
  5. Lair
  6. Heavenly Sword
  7. Uncharted

To me it looks realy damn good!! But it's just me....maybe I have a bad taste in games. And these games are only for this year or early next.  Who knows what will the future bring?
